  1. sorry you had to go a while beofre someone replied. I just bought a 360 a few weeks ago but I've only played it once since I bought the $300 dollar one with no memory card or hardrives, but havn't had the money to buy either one yet. So I'd advise that you buy one of the two!! So don't know- but as far as the games go, I bought it mainly for Halo 3. Wii has Zelda, and Ps3 has the newest Final Fantasy, but who wants to spend $500 on a system!? I'd go with xbox! -Eric ps- I think Halo 3 is coming out in november (was march...)
  2. My worst injury wasn't in martial arts, but my second one is. (I get hurt by the stupidest ways...) I slipped off a vine from a tree at my grandma's house and fell about 10-12 feet from the ground on my hip. I dislocated my leg. Karate has helped that though since it doesn't pop much anymore. That was pretty bad- couldn't move it, and had to crawl and roll on the floor to get throughout the house. Worst part was nobody believed me- so no one took me to the hospital! eventually it somehow got better and was able to move it later on. It hurt SO bad if I sneezed, coughed, laughed, anything! haha Another time was at a tournament though--- I kicked shins with this big guy- It hurt incredibly, more so later on than during the match. Thought I fractured it- but just bruised the bone some. That was a very weird injury since it hurt everywhere but the place I hit it. which is reffered pain if you want to look it up
  3. What's the difference between certain types of tournaments? How does somebody take ITF and WTF events? I thought those were just for like national tournaments. And don't you have to like fly half-way across the world just to attend one usually? Where does one find tournaments that aren't in China and California (I'm in Texas... ) -Eric
  4. Thanks everyone
  5. Guess I've been on here for a little while, so, kind of late for an intro- but oh well. My name is Eric Ippolito, I'm 20 years old, I live in Dallas Tx and have been taking martial arts since August 16th of this year. I study Taekwondo and am currently an orange belt. I also do some Samurai sword, but not too much yet. I plan on attending some tournaments this year (probably AOK) and attended one in November. So that about does it- If anyone wants, my sites are... http://mytaekwondoblog.blogspot.com and http://xanga.com/bigbob4million -Eric
  6. Ok thanks- I'll have to get it checked out. It drives me crazy 'cause I can't practice my turn type kicks for long before I get somewhat dizzy. Like in class my first one's the best, then it just goes downhill...
  7. oooh interesting. That sucks thanks
  8. Does anyone else ever have the problem with dizziness when working out or whatever? I seem to get really dizzy only after a few turn kicks etc. Is there anything that you guys do to deal with it, or make yourself used to the turning fast etc? Eventually I feel to dizzy that I can't do too much. I try switching sides- but that hasn't helped yet so far. -Eric
  9. Hey bud, Thanks for the info. I'm looking into that right now. Thanks again
  10. Hey thanks for all the tips. I know I naturally do it- 'specially when I'm frustrated or something- so maybe it does waste energy. But I also see from what you guys have said that it can be good at times
  11. Oooh! I have been wanting to do a duel medium sword kata as well- but you just can't really find a form for them. And it's hard to get someone to teach you as well since you rarely see duel japanese swords. It'd probably be best to make your own.
  12. I learned how to tie my belt from watching a movie on google took me a few days.
  13. Hi- to introduce myself, I'm Eric. I'm 20 and have been taking Taekwondo for 4 months and am currently an orange belt. I have a question about tournaments. I'm really interested in entering tournaments for sparring, forms, and weapon forms. Where do I find them? I attended a korean arts (kido championship) in november, but where do I find ones that collect points etc. The only ones that I have heard about are the AOK events. I live in the Dallas metro. And which ones are good? I see some require chest protectors, and others don't. Any tips etc? -Eric
  14. Whenever I spar or do my kicks, forms, etc., I have a tendancy to "bounce" up and down. I've done this ever since when I was a kid and did a little boxing. My instructors always tell me not to, and that it wastes energy, or it might make me telegraph. If it's wrong- how come I see some of the best fighters do it?? What do you guys think? -Eric
