  1. i think the best thing to remember is that 99% of people feel like this so your not the only one iv even met people who i thought were so confident but when you ask them they are really shy and have the same worries. i know it sounds corny but just try to be your self and relax when you meet people for the first time ask them about them selfs its the easiest thing to talk about. sometimes i'll just tell people that i met for the first time that i was nervous going/starting a new club etc and people seem to be great after that because they will know how you feel because everyones been through it. If you feel confortable in your own skin then others will pick up on that and feel confortable around you and importantly remember to smile!!! hope that helps
  2. Oh good question i think my main one would have to be waring full make-up to karate dont think many do that (maybe im wrong) dont get me wrong i work up a good sweat and am not scared of a good work out but i do like my make-up!
  3. ohh ochhh are you ok tho? touch wood iv never had any bad ones of yet just a couple of nasty looking brusies but while i used to dance i once hit my shin full force with my heavy shoe it was so painful i cant tell you and to this day (it was about 7 years ago) i still have a dent in my shin bone!! the other good i have had was falling in the playground and breaking the bone behind my knee and bursting the vain next too it had to be on crutches for nearly 4 months
  4. For me im lucky to have a good bus service where i live (i cant drive had a few mishaps when i was learning) and can get a bus to pretty much any where including where i train (although it not much fun waiting for a bus after training in the freezing cold for 40 mins ). As for flying its one of my biggest fears been on a plane quite a few times and hated it!! The worst was when i was working and had to go back and forth to Belfast by plane (take it from me i was not a happy bunny every monday morning!!)
  5. oh iv been watching (yes i have no life apart from the karate haha) did the same thing that i think eveyone does and swore that i wouldnt be watching it this year but im hooked Cant believe the hoha its all caused over jade and shilpa (sp?) poor shilpa mind you she did cut jade down to size with the 'this is all your famous for' jib from the look on jades face that one really got under her skin who do you think will win?? my moneys on shilpa or dirk
  6. im with you janos i do like a good beat to listen to when im getting into the swing of things. Chemical Brothers and the Prodigy are high on my list too.

  10. here we just call it juice we would get many a strange look if we called it pop
  11. ohh spooky i was thinking about this the other day as to wither to get one i was looking about and i think this is the one they use in my club: http://www.martialartshop.co.uk/martial_art_equipment_protective.htm whats the deal with them tho do you put it on all the time or just when your sparring i might get a few strange looks if i had to be like - "sorry i just need to put my breast protector on i'll just be a min" everytime we sparred
  12. oh sorry to hear that hope it feels better soon. Iv done that before too like everyone said rest and heatpacks help but another tip would be to roll a towel up and wrap it around your neck to act like a collar - it helped me. you sould be as right as rain in no time but if not maybe get it checked if it still sore in a couple of weeks
  13. lol yeah well it is our second national drink (whisky being first) one question - have you tried it did you like it?? when my brothers girlfriend was over from the states we got her to try some lets just say i think its an aquired taste its also a life saver for a hangover (not that i would know about that sort of thing )
