  1. Friday. I am more excited, every time my instructor says "Just try hard." I get a small morale boost. I can't wait. I'm really weak in the pull ups category, which is the one where I'm extremely worried about. I hope one thing doesn't determine if I pass or fail. This is my first major test so I wouldn't know.
  2. Thank you all, you're helping the mental preparation.
  3. He thinks I can do it, and so do some other friends of mine. It's the pull ups and hanging I'm worried about.
  4. Here I am, in about a week I'll begin the 13 days of testing for my red belt. It's mainly physical training as the technical stuff was all in the stripes. I'm ready in the mind but certainly not in the body. I'm too chubby and I'm not certain I'll pass. But I'm still going for it, and giving it everything I have. Any suggestions?
  5. I'd wish I could say yes but I don't know any of the technical stuff. People ask me what's under the hood and I say, "An engine." I do know a nice car when I see one though.
  6. Yeah, Locke is starting to get on my nerves. His whole 3 hits to Charlies face was nuts. Locke isn't like that, and the change in character was a disturbing one. The original Locke would ask Charlie for answers, not kick his butt. Another thing I'm wondering, is why isn't Hurley losing weight? The actor and not the character could use this concept to his advantage and workout for the show you know? Being stuck on an ilsand and not shedding a few piunds is nuts, even if he did have a secret stash of food, his lifestyle has totally changed. I think the actor should seriously consider.
  7. I LOVE LOST. But a few episodes before the war? You're nuts, it will at least take the rest of the season seeing as LOST is practically the one word definition for "one step forward, and two steps back". What makes me qonder is why there isn't someone smart enough to go to the others, and say, "Hey, you don't want us here, and we don't want to be here, help us got away, and we won't bug you anymore". I mean, not in those exact words, but something along the lines.
  8. Well then, what a way to prove them wrong eh? It's nice to see people realize you don't have to be a big guy to kick booteh in Martial Arts.
  9. No, no one ever quit. She wasn't bad enough to make us completely miserable.
  10. Our instructor is quite the opposite. He makes sure we have fun, but we still get the work done. And usually when he puts his foot on our back, it's to help us. He doesn't scream but he encourages us. However, one of his fellow black-belts was pretty tough. She wasn't that tough, but she certainly wasn't easy, you know? She wasn't the nicest person in the first place, and that carried onto the class. TKD wasn't very fun when she came, thankfully college came.
  11. There's only one kind of metal that I can stand. I generally can't stand the screaming and the speaker blowing. However, I haven't seen a post about this band, correct me if I'm wrong. The German Metal band Rammstein. Anyone? There's been some disputes if their lyrics or German is wrong, however they still rock. They got their name after an air show crash in Ramstein, Germany. Three planes collided at once in the air, killing about 60 people. They added the extra "m", and here they are! Rammstein.
  12. Weight was a motivation, as an American teenager I'm able to go obese if I'm not careful. (Hey it's our culture ) So while I'm not "fat" I'm a little on the chubby side, so that was one main reason. Another would be because I needed an extra activity to do. Otherwise I would be 100% computer geek. One last one is the knowledge of self-defense, and the other skills I'm taught. It's good to know how to defend yourself, even if it's not physically. I think Martial Arts can give a boost in confidence. Not only that, but learning to be more controlling of yourself, and sharpening those skills, oh say: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverence, Self Control, Indomitable spirit. I've stayed in Tae-Kwon-Do this long, so it must be motivational enough.
