  10. Yes. Im originally a righty and my stance was wrong. He told me to get in my stance as if i was about to get into a fight. I stood left foot forward, right arm back. It had always worked for me in the stret rights I have been in. He taught me to have my power up front. No need for it to be tucked away in the back when I can have the same power faster and with better control. He then, as you said, had me switch it up so my left arm/leg was in the front. I actually felt pretty good in that stance. Felt better than I thought it would I'm looking forward to my next class -Ray
  11. The instructor was very cool and was very knowledgable about jkd. It was a great workout and looking forward to my next session. I sparred with a friend of mine who is taking the class with me. It was interesting to say the least. I have to work on my balance a little more and to try and not go airborn when I move back from an attack. I usually hop back or jump back wards to get away. Dragging/sliding my feet will take some getting used to. Also punching along my centerline of my body is another thing I need to practice. Trying to put all my weight into a quick punch and be able to use both my left and right hands (im a righty) comfortably. I love it! -Ray
  12. That's awesome. The guy sounds a little fruity but can definitly hold his own. If I was a robber and tryied to hold up a conveniant store but then got my asskicked by an Iranian clerk i'd probably kill myself! -Ray
  13. I understand what everyone is saying. You guys know alot more about this stuff than I do which is the reason why i decided to join the forum and ask the real fighters my questions. I appreciate everyones input. I have talked to one of the instructors about Jeet Kune Do and I start my classes tomorrow night. I'm really excited about it and looking forward to it. Ive been exposed to boxing, and karate. Took karate as a child and have been boxing for a short time now. (I'm 20 years old). I've unfortunately been in many street fights and not to sound conceited, but I consider my self a good fighter. I never go out and look for fights but for some reason or another people always resort to it to solve problems. Very ignorant in my opinion. I'm looking forward to posting on this forum more frequently and reading and learning from everyone on here. Thanks -Ray
  14. Thank you all for the help/advice. I really appreciate it! -Ray
  15. Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I thought maybe here is where I could get my questions answered. I'm curious as to if there are still people who teach June Keet Do (Bruce Lee's invented style of fighting). I think he is an unbelievable person and one of my heros. I live in Maryland on the east coast of the United States. I tried to google it but wasn't having much luck. I'm really interested in learning this but by watching a 1 hour video I downloaded isn't going to get me to where I want to be. Thank you all in advance. -Ray
