Orange Belt (3/10)

  1. I'd say about a third of the time this isn't true. There are alot of mixed martial art places that have now begone to get alot of "mcdojos" as well as their traditional counter parts. what!? nooooo! i can handle stupid karate mcdojos... but not mma! this is blasphemy....
  2. Attack his collar- it doesnt require a great deal of movement on your behalf, and it may bug him enough to start defending (otherwise you just may catch him). you know I do do that sometimes....
  3. I'm going to go ahead and reinforce what I said earlier, that (except perhaps at the knee for reasons other than board-breaking related and so on) it is not practical to break a leg with a kick. In fact, it's impossible. The hardest kicking thai boxers in the world can't do it! (Maybe it's happened once, but if so I haven't heard of it.)
  4. ...well it certainly seems right to the japanese government. haha, sorry... i just cant let that one go. too much.
  5. True, although you should note an "armbar" is a manuever that breaks the arm at the elbow, perhaps you're thinking of a kimura or key lock (shoulder things)? Those are maneuvers you can use to control someone's movement without necessarily breaking anything. Anyway, in my particular case, I'm lucky in a way because I don't have to arrest anyone, just render the other guy no longer threatening.

  7. Actually, forget the fancy stuff is what I think you meant. Unless an armbar just blatantly presents itself to me, I wouldn't go for it. Even if it did I'd probably just break his nose. But to be more specific- take care of business by putting him on his back. Simplest way, if you ask me- how many punk guys know BJJ? Or even wrestling?
  8. mixed martial artist, so depending on my opponent, i probably want to ground n pound him. fact is, most any punk on the street has no idea what to do on the ground, and except for simple submissions (such as a key lock) im not too likely to try and sacrifice my position if somethign screws up when i can just as easily- no, more easily- beat his face in real quick.
  9. you know the more i think about it, the more i think that the arrow on that diagram should be on the left side of the circle, rather than coming out of the middle. in which case, the circular motion would obviously add something.
  10. it was where break dancing came from.
  11. unless his fat ... lays right on top of you and doesnt move.
  12. Circling around and throwing the jab.
  13. If the guys moronic enough to kneel on my legs Im going to shrimp out and pull guard, probably open guard just to kick him away. My free arm is going to be covering my head or whatever else hes trying to punch. Depending on just how hes kneeling on my legs (weird position, not the smartest) I might just be able to take his back. Or... if I can shrimp out and stand up fast enough while he's still kneeling, he'll find a knee in his face.
  14. Yea, mixed martial arts is no joke. They're going to (or at least supposed to) teach you how to fight hardcore with little or no rules.
