  1. Hi, I agree with b3n, my husabnd and I have almost finished a 3 month training program which follows similar advice. If by "getting buff" you mean better muscle definition we were advised to increase our protein intake ( we were told that the ideal should be 1g of protein per kg of body weight). This was to aid dropping body fat. We have followed a 6 day program alternating between cardio days and weight training days. Massive increase in protein ( we mostly now eat lean chicken and fish ), followed by a rest day were we are allowed to eat as we pleased ( but not to excess). It has worked for us as we have dropped nearly 8% body fat though our weight has remiained the same. We completed this program though under supervised nutrionists and trainers so if you are are able, ask you physical education teachers at school, they may be able to give you more specific advice or a local gym. Best of luck
  2. In the years I have been training, to my knowledge ( and I have asked) I haven't contaminated anyone else. I have found it helps.... but as I say my regular gym reckons it reduces your immune system as it is drawing much needed energy away and replacing your muscles?
  3. Just a thought , but does anyone else train while they are sick? I have found that if I have a fever/cold it will break much quicker and my recovery time is shortened if I train. I train at the back to avoid contaminating anyone else. I had a discussion at my regular gym, and they advised against it. My experience has been that is has always been beneficial. Maybe I am a martial art nut... Anyone else have any thoughts on this.....
  4. Sorry for the long delay Myth, My club is New Zealand WTSDA. We have been over here now for a few years and this year we were awarded studio staus.
  5. I will be the New Zealand representative at the seminar with Grandmaster thought sadly I cannot attend the championship, but I will be in town for a few days. Tang Soo

  7. Hey all, Are there any other martial artists from NZ? Just wanted to touch base with anyone else who is currently training or looking to start.
