1.turbo/super does increase cubic inches by forcing more are into the combustion chamber. 2 aluminum block makes it so you can run higher compression. which also gives you more cubes. 3. high rpm doesnt mean squat. torque is what counts. 4. weight is very important often forgoting in car moding. I work on cars that people dont expect to run fast. but i also like working on american cars.

What would happen if Bruce Lee was alive today?
Athorn4941 replied to inyctrotter's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
JKD to him would have never been perfect. A person must practise there whole lives many times that to ever acheive perfect what bruce theories on jkd origanlly would have changed as he got older to accomadate his aging body. And if he didnt die we might have trown him off to the side not realizing the wisdom he had in combat. Just remeber this cause everyone has a piece of wisdom like he knew if it is usefull to you use it and if not don't -
my name is the name of my website and my other name athorn4941 is the name aol gave me when i first got internet and it sort of stuck with me cause its the screen name i use for the computer at work

I was an olymipic caliber athlete 5-6 years ago then i started having problems with dealing with my personal life and i quit the sport i was good at. american boxing as a flyweight. but how is this ? anyone going to believe. When i talk to people on the net they wont believe and only people that are close to me believe or seen me fight. oh well.

I got a dog named big dog(it just showed up one day, man its the best trained dog i ever had and im still trying to find out what other tricks it knows) and i got a min pincher named saturn and i get fish every summer but they die every winter(I run out of propane and the people that deliver it are so unreliable and now they only dielver to me if i pay in case up front and a minimum of 300 dollar delievery). hey sai i used to have 50 + guinee pigs when i was a kid and in the summer( i lived on a big farm before and hopefully soon again) they were trained enough that me and my family just let them loose in the yard and they would stay in the same visinity and then i had a dog name ajax that would watch them like a mother and carry them around if one got to far away. and in the winter we would put them in a barn my family had. man memories.

It could also be an insurance thing. when i did boxing no one was allowed to spar without a coach being by the ring watching. And they did this so if someone got hurt or someone happened to have a grudge did hurt the other guy so bad. you know what i mean.

Cool Thats they way i was brought up to with a very strict catholic mom. And some of my earliest memories of my life are of cleaning, cooking, washing.

oh yeah here is a tip of advice THROW OUT THE SCALE YOU WEIGH YOUR SELF WITH. people that are trying to lose weight will exercise and then look at the scale to see there weight and 75% of the time it will weigh more. the reason for this is they are making muscle. remember muscles weigh more than fat.

Eat what you want thats my theory on it. Make sure you eat a well rounded diet. Try not to eat to much junk food. I think that if you dont worry about what you eat and more worried about exercising then you be okey. When i was in american boxing i never worried about coming in on weight and i always came in on weight. I was more worried about the exercising. Becuase peoples body chemistry varies so much its hard to tell you what to eat and not thats why i hate them things that come out in the news every once in awhile. like its bad to drink alcohol now for some reason its okey to drink in moderation. what the hell. just keep a regular exercise scheldule and stick to it and you will never have to worry.

sorry if you got the wrong idea i have a hard time expressing myself. yeah i can see your point now in this day and age (not that im old 22). Yeah look at the personality of your kids to make that desicion too. you dont want your kids to use this on someone.

any martial art that uses your energy against you is going to devastate you. whenever you do a movement your body is doing follow through the tai chi person well uses that follow through to his advantage. The problem kensai is that people see it as a slow martial art kensai. The one thing i hate about this board is that people are so dedicated to what they think is the right martial art. You know what if they made some movie on some kick*** taichi master i bet you anything that people here would change there mind. People have to remember that anyone can beat anyone. i dont know rambling.

It depends on the martial art that they take to learn or the instructor. In my opinion its better to learn weapons first and regular combat last. Some martial arts take this view to others don't. Go to other places to see and if not they just got to work to that blue stripe. I was family taught thats the way I was taught so does that mean my mom wanted money no.oh well thats my opinion.

but would buy the chain from a martial art store like http://www.awma.com

I think american boxing is one of the most physically demanding fighting styles(pyscally not techanally). And by saying tai chi is not deadly. that art teaches you how to redirect your oppenents energy against them. takwondo how is that useless martial art since its originated from karate and china(mistaken on that probally). Kb you just answered your post there in your first post you said you were interested in kickboxing. that be a good starting point. by you sort of knowing what you want to start with is a good start. that way you dont go into something your not really interested in. I dont know about other people but when i first got hit i wasnt used to it. but the seconded time i spar it never bothered me and i really never got hurt from the match. you get used to it

Defending One's Property
Athorn4941 replied to MonkeyNinja's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
If things like this happen we have to stand up for what we believe in. If you go to jail do what you can to get out of jail legaly and hopefully in the process the law that put you in there unjustly gets declared unlawful. We as a people must stand up for what we believe even if you are breaking the law. What the law says doesnt mean its right. I Saw this one story where a girl got kick out of school cuase she gave her freind some of her inhaler when she had an asthma attack thus saving her life. well the law had zero tolerance for this but what would you do let the person die. Look how the us makes it so you cant have weapons on you. well i carry mine concealed with me everywhere. i dont plan to use them. its just a secruity issue with me. well am i wrong. the law says i am but am I. -
I heard from a freind who heard from this one guy who dont know squat. KNOW YOUR LAWS!!! On the post anyways anything can be considered a stance. like that one guy posted thats just a non agressive stance to not provoke the fighter then if he strikes you do whatever motion to defend attack etc... i think personally the best way to learn is to practice in a variety of stances to get an idea of which stance is best. and remember to practice in stances that you are uncomfortable in. 9 times out of 10(exageration) thats going to be the stance thats the best to win or you have gotten yourself into. Yes be careful though ignoring pain. I use to box for 5 years of my life and the ignore pain senaro cause me to now have a back that hurts alot and constant knee problems that bother me all the time.
-
I dont think so we have the 2nd admendment. what is going to protect you from the government. the bridge between combat with sticks is far greater against guns then it is against swords like the okinawans had to deal with.
-
yeah and they should ban all martial art weapons too.

It doesnt take much for the nunchaku to kill someone. the average person can swing the nunchaku with 2000 lbs of force per sq in. but im lucky where i live its okey to carry around nunchaku around in the open. but cops here will dissagree thats where i tell the the state law code and if they give me trouble arrest me i dont care its just there butt for unlawful arrest. #1 know the law cause the cops dont always know what the laws are.
