Yellow Belt

Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. 2 formal training sessions a week in the dojo and then I try to do 30 minutes to an hour every day at home on non-formal days.
  2. I had always heard that the Shorin-Ryu style had it's ancestry in the White Crane style of Kung Fu.
  3. I'd have to say 'The Quest' or 'Street Fighter' both starring Van Damme has to be two of the biggest MA turds I've ever seen on film...
  4. The only real things that get me scared are something happening to my wife and kids that I have no control of.
  5. Hmm.. that's a tough question.. I like so many MA movies and for so many reasons. When I was a kid the American Ninja movies (cringes) were one of the reasons I started MA. As a teen I discovered Bruce Lee via Enter the Dragon and was instantly hooked. Jet Li is of course a phenom to watch especially early in his career. Jackie Chan may be considered the 'clown prince' of MA movies, but if you actually watch he has some of the best control and technique on film. Then there's Chuck... Or Mr. Norris to you.. who seemed to bring the genre to American soil and do it without ever cracking a smile. So I guess I'm going to have be a wuss and say that I can't even begin to come close to picking a favorite since there are so many to choose from. It'd be like having to pick a food for the rest of your life... Couldn't do it.
  6. I actually do that when I have trouble sleeping... It's much better than counting sheep... Especially since I'm allergic to wool.
  7. Was this event supposed to be on pay per view because I never saw a single promotion and I probably would have purchased just for the novelty.
  8. Just to be curious, what don't you like about his attitude? And I agree, he's a freak of nature strength wise. I think Royce will have his hands full.
  9. They'll probably run another encore this weekend on Saturday. I don't know for sure though.
  10. Well last night during Ultimate Fight Night 3 on Spike TV Dana 'Freakin' White announced that in May Matt Hughes will defend his title against the man himself Royce Gracie. I'm interested in your thoughts regarding who you think will win the fight and how you think they'll win. Personally I'm on the fence. Both are truly incredible fighters and both will definitely be bringing their 'A' game to this, so I think it's going to go to the judges as a coin flip. Either that or one of them gets very lucky early and gets a submission. What do you all think?
  11. I have to agree that UFN3 was freaking awesome.. In fact it was so good I stayed up and watched the replay...
  12. What I want to know is what the heck does that have to do with breaking a brick?...
  13. One time we were doing progressive stretching and I ripped the butt out of my gi. Granted it was like 5 yrs old and was ready to go at any time... We've also had the classic fart slips in class a few times as well but everyone just pretends it didn't happen and moves on...
  14. I have watched both seasons and am really looking forward to the third. I hadn't head that Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock were going to be the coaches... I'll have to look into that. As for the show, I agree that it has a pretty good motivating affect on me as well.
