  1. Well it turns out this was not the first break in. Three 3rd degree black belts USSD instructors ( rick peterson chief instructor of the lafayette dojo, tony henkenberns chief instructor of highlands ranch dojo, rachel johnson chief instructor of colorado springs dojo) broke in on january 10 2005 and stole sean foys gi's and some of his belts. About $400 worth of stuff and trashed his dojo. The day before will clark a 5th degree came in and harassed him and said he was a break away from ussd and that peoples legs get broken over things like this! This is in the police report that sean filed a couple days later. On march 13 2005 Sean foy came into his dojo and found his front window smashed in. On may 27 2005 Sean foy was jumped outside his house by three people and his bad left knee was broken in 2 spots and 3 ribs and his left arm and multiple contusions to the head. Rick peterson was arrested outside seans dojo on may 30th and issued a 1year no trespass to his dojo, sean's assistant instructors recognized him and called 911 and locked the door. He tryed to get in but was arressted. Sean left ussd the year before and blow out his knee while working for them but he had to pay for the surgery himself. You can find these reports at the lafayette police department in colorado. I am surprised know one replyed to this!
  2. TO true. They have been trying to promote themselfs as shaolin to everyone. Stay away from theses guys they has been some problems in colorado recently from some of their instructors harassing a break off school. A break in at the school on 9-18 and will clarks the district manager card was left at the scene of the crime. It was takin by police for finger prints. A friend of mine says their is more police reports on them with the harassments with this dojo. I'll post name and the police reports in the next day or so.
  3. FROM WHAT MY FRIEND SAID HANS PROSCH, KRIS ESZLINGER, WILL CLARK ALL STARTED IN 1988. AND GOT THEIR FRIST BLACK 1990.ABOUT EVRY TWO YEARS THEY GOT PROMOTED, THIS JUST WHAT MY FRIEND TOLD ME. Is he a real master? You make up your on mind on that one This is true stay away from them! They were promoted 1996 to 4th dan. Mattera didn't have many high ranking guys. Scott woods left in the mid 90s and so did dave leynton both 7th dans. RUN AWAY FROM USSD!!!!
  4. He should open up his clinics to everyone.
  5. Yes alot of his instructors under him saw the light and went independent and left him. I have a black belt mag from 2000 where he has a 6th don punching in for him. I think he left because I have never heard of a 6th or 7th degree on the east coast with ussd anymore.
  6. I would go with villaris if I had to choose between them. I would go with an independent school than a chain.
  7. That one is easy mattera probabley didn't want the same thing to happened to him that happened to villari. Mattera split off in 88 and took about 40 schools with him. If people knew the truth on ussd and mattera on where they came from ( I meen instructors ) they would probabley go and open their own school. Just my 2 cents
  8. TB, I heard grand master villari lives in florida and vists his 3 schools down there for clinics quite often. If you have a chance try to see if you can croos train there?
  9. Yeah no kidding. I heard from my friend that they do 1099 for their instructors( which meens they dont take out taxes or pay workmens comp) and pay no sales tax on their martial arts supplies they sell to customers does anyone know if this is true?
  10. Thats what everyone should do is cross train and incorporate it in their system. And I hate it when ignorant instructors say my masters the best but I've never studied with anyone else to back that up but my masters the best pieriod.
  11. I think most large orgs have some politics that go into promotion of the higher ranks (e.g. 5th Dan and above). I can say that everyone that I've seen make 5th dan or higher in the Villari org really earned their rank. I can say the same. There is no guarantee for black belt ranks especially 5th degree. I'll also add that I don't know of anyone that was promoted just to open a school. I've heard from my friends pf instructors getting push threw the ranks 1-2 if they have a successful school. As for 5th dan thats a different story.
  12. Probabley the same reson evryone leaves matteras ussd org. Maybe there not getting good training? Not getting promoted for lack of numbers-students? Maybe he didnt like charging $175 a month for classes and he wanted it to be affordable to evryone? California is littered with mattera breakoffs just like boston is full of villari breakoffs.
  13. Not surprised, my friend told me they have ex-cons and drug dealers runing their schools dont know if its true?
  14. I have heard from my friends that this common amongst USSD/VILLARIS SCHOOLS.
  15. I heard the same thing on other forums.
  16. He was promoted by grand master Tak Wah Eng in 1995 to 8th degree and mastery level of shaolin black tiger. In 1997 he was promoted by the shaolin temple to 9th.
