    Kata List ..

Yeah that really is a huge amount of kata to learn. I've seen worse though.
  2. Doesn't look too bad to me.
  3. Male ,16, still havent got around to the drivers permit thing .
  4. Weeeelcome to KF.
  5. Mas Oyama would have been very interesting indeed... he wouldve standed a great chance at winning overall IMO.
  6. Ha? One more year to get your second degree and your are currently working towards your third. What kind of operation are you working out at? So are you at the start of your fourth as well? Heh. No, 1 more year AFTER I had earned my first degree to get my second. It's then 2 years after THAT to get to third degree (At a minimum). Then 3 years minimum to 4th, and then 4 years more to fifth plus other obligations. I tested for 2nd degree decided in September of 2004, and I should test for third in September 2006. Aodhan So from the time you earn your black belt, it only takes 3 years until your a 3rd dan??? Doesnt seem quite right. You mentioned if you started from scratch it would have taken you 29 months, thats 2.5 years. So just say I started young, say 8 years old. By the time i'm 11 i'd be shodan, 12y/o - 2nd dan, 14 - 3rd dan, 17 - 4th dan, then by the age of 21 I could be testing for 5th dan?? Hmm...
  7. I was wondering where you had gone Why_Worry. Good to have you back.
  8. Taikyoku Sono Ichi, Ni, San Pinan Sono Ichi, Ni, San, Yon, Go Tensho Sanchin Saifer That makes 11 kata until shodan.
  9. We call it Roundhouse Kick all the time.
  10. Its would only be possible if the bricks were set up a particular way or the middle brick is weaker than the rest.
  11. I like Judo, so thats what I voted for. I also think its a great art for self defence together with a striking art such as karate.
  12. Seeings how its about 30-40°c (90-100°F) here at xmas time, we are usually doing something to cool each other down and lighting up the bbq with friends and family.
  13. Once you go Kyokushin you wouldn't have it any other way. It's great.
  14. I just had a look the the site in your sig...do you really practice all those kata?? I counted nearly 60 of them.
  15. It's a shame, guess i've been lucky.
  16. I've heard alot of people say that MA schools are among the most unreliable places of all - they always seem to be opening up then closing down soon after. I've also read alot of people who have had to continuosly keep moving around because of it, having to take up new styles and all. I have been training in the same dojo, and under the same shihan (and most of the senseis) that where there 9 years ago when I started (It's been running for over 20 years now though). I was just wondering whether this business of MA schools opening and closing in quick succession was effecting anyone? Or is it just a minority?
  17. One word of advice, don't use powerpoint. The presentation will look cheap and generic. And make sure you get some good background music.
  18. Whats with the "drunken devil ryu" y2_sub?!?
  19. Great news! (for me anyway) I just found out that the 2006 IKO3 Kyokushin Karate World Cup is going to be held in Sydney next November! Anyone planning on going?
  20. You said exactly what I was thinking.
  21. Good post Meguro.
  22. I would say judo only because of my preference to it, as an art itself, over aikido. As for what would go together better with TKD, I don't really know. But i voted for judo.
