Shihan means Master Teacher. My kyokushin head sensei became a shihan after attaining 5th dan a few years ago. So to answer your question. In kyokushin, you need 5th dan to become shihan.

Dont worry about the people watching, just concentrate on your techniques and you will soon forget about them.

Mine would probably be the mortal kombat series, especially the newer ones with the real fighting styles. But i have recently found a Japanese game called TaeKwonDo for SNES. Quite fun

Kyokushin, because it was the best MA school in my area. Now im proud to be a kyokushin karateka and wouldnt have it any other way.

I do Kyoksuhin and would say that its fully combative. Not to say that we only do practical combat training - we do katas etc...but its a powerful style and all the techniques we train at are applicable in real life situations. (sorry if that didnt make sense/grammatical errors. Extremely tired)

Interesting statistic.

Usually you can decide for yourself if you dont think you have earned the grade and its not so dissapointing when you fail. Its when you try your best and think you have done a perfect job THEN you fail, thats crushing. Having said that, ive never failed a belt test.

I dont really agree with that particular art.

We call it Sanbon Kumite, 3 step fighting. We also do Ippon Kumite which is obviously 1 step fighting.
