  2. haha wouldnt you know it, i just did a google search and the first site to come up is a school that teaches taekwondo and hapkido lol.......wow this and the fact i found free taekwondo and chi kung lessons in my home town convinces me i am meant for martial arts LOL
  3. ya i think im gonna start searchin for hapkido schools where im movin hopefuly i'll find some, it's a pretty big city so it should turn up.......thanks everyone i'll make sure to keep you guys posted

  7. ya my dad's done some hapkido to ,he showed me a couple techniques a while back seems very effective, he doesnt live around me though so he cant teach too much

  9. well im doin tae-kwon-do right now and im hoping to some time in the not too near future to start doin kung-fu also, then one day when im old and gray maybe do some karate.......would training extensively in two or three different arts be detrimental to my training in any one???.......and what level in tae-kwon-do should i shoot for before starting to do kung fu at the same time??..........after i get deeper in to taekwon do i might give up on other arts but ive always been fond of kung fu........and i do train hard im not just looking to get a decent belt in a bunch of styles, im really lookin to train to extremely high levels, is it possible to get to such high levels in several different MA's starting at age 17?
  10. ^^you do know that goes against one of the very founding laws of physics right?
  11. should be askin your sensei in my oppinion..................or just voice your second geussing and let him show you why you are wrong........all depends on how you learn best lol............in terms of anger in your life i dont know, just put more energy into your training use it as an outlet, and i dont mean by destroying someone in sparring
  12. angers a disadvantage any master will tell you that focus is key..........and yes martial arts is good for venting aslong as your not using it to vent outside of class like beatin people up lol........like i usually have alot of pent up aggression and it really gets to me most the time (though ive never been pushed far enough to fight) but i just had my first taekwondo class and this morning im as happy as a clam.........goog thing about taekwon do also is that theres alot of sparring, nothin like sparrin to get some aggression of the chest.........just dont try and hurt the other guy
  13. lol thanks i'll be sure to
  14. thankyou Kajkenbopr you've been very helpful............i'll definently check out a few bookstores
  15. thankyou.............i did take kung fu for a lil while.........but that was like 7 years ago lol and im enjoyin the clean slate lol.........one thing i learned especially was that i gotta start stretchin ALOT lol................
  16. i finally settled on these free classes they hold at this church cuz im broke........i was wary about it cuz i thought cuz it was free and run primarily out of a church that it would be kinda "soft" or "lazy" but whoa i was drippin sweat, i also thought my first day i'd only get a couple things to practice but i got like 3 blocks 3 kicks and a buunch of stance and commands to remember.......overall im very pleased and excited about the next couple of months.........just thought i'd share ol peace
  17. cool thanks for the input
  18. I was lookin into a dojo i found on the internet in my area and since ive been looking to get back into martial arts i sent the intructor an email asking for class schedules prices and a class summary..........but i still really have no idea what Bujinkan Budo is all about.........could anybody tell me?.........thankyou
  19. yah i could do that its just that i only have chi kung once a week, and i cant really do it on my own until ive practiced it enough, plus i have alotta free time, so i was hoping i could find something that i could do on my own to supplement only doing chi kung once a week
  20. about the whole multiple attackers thing i know someone who NEARLY (and yes i am stresing nearly) beat about 8 cops.......i'd say there rather well trained and well armed
  21. k sounds like good advice........i am also starting chi gong (spellin??) do you think my instructor would no much about zhan zhuang??........i might call my dad too he's a big martial arts "guru" lol..........anyways thankyou again
  22. i just tried some excersises and then i tried the "hugging the tree" or w/e stance and after about 5 mins i ws gettin really tense in my shoulders and legs despite my own efforts and i had to stop........am i doing it wrong or is this just a beginner certainty?
  23. ya ive googled it but all i can find really is the philsophy of it, as for actual instruction it seems limited.......but thanks anyways.........as for the strikes i musta been tired when i read them first cuz they seem pretty self explanatory now i think lol.....but i'd still appreciate more details on the subject
  24. i was just wondering if anybody new of any sites that had videos or detailed intructions on different forms for practice??
