That takes some confidence, stupidity, or a little bit of alcohol. Perhaps a little of each? Good way to end it, but he's lucky he didn't get smashed with his eyes closed.

Are there any martial arts that traditionally do full contact sparring with no pads? A friend of mine is always going on about some Indian martial art or another and says they did full contact without pads. I think he's lying, but I could be wrong.

For Kenpo, I'd say Mass Attacks, even though I haven't learned it yet.

So, it's okay but not the best? I'm not too concerned with bulking up since I'm at about the level I want to be at. But I used to be more worried about it.

Thinking of taking some form
DKizzle replied to DKizzle's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
I took a 2-hour Judo seminar at my Kenpo school by Mike Swain. It was really informative which makes me thing Judo would be a good idea. The problem with high school wrestling is that my school has the best wrestling team in the state and it's hard to get onto the team. Oh, and I live in Delaware. -
what to do against a opponet wildly swinging?
DKizzle replied to Rock-fght's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
If he's charging fast, get out of the way with good timing and he will possibly lose his balance. I would attempt to leap out of the way into a Cat or something then side thrust him in back/side of his lower thigh/knee. -
I've never seen anything posted like this on a martial arts forum before, but that may just be me. I'm the kind of guy who likes to have a bunch of random knowledge like that, even if the odds of me ever using it is one in a million. Such things as 1-hit knockouts (neck pinch thing), how to puncture a lung, or jam their nose up into their brain.

Yeah, I've been posting here for a few hours now, and just saw this board. Well, just gonna introduce myself I guess. I'm Dan, I took about 4 years of TKD, reaching Red belt, and am currently a Purple-Stripe Belt in Kenpo (Tracy system). Love the boards so far, looking forward to more.

What kind of martial arts is this...

Wow...that was some cool stuff. <_ -
Whenever I see a random fight in school or whatever, it generally ends up being nothing but a grappling match. Though I'm confident in my abilities, I realize this is a weakness I have. I'm thinking of taking like a year of some sort of grappling MA, just to get some basic experience. Which would you suggest for a short term learning thing like that.

I've been wondering for a while: Is whole wheat bread covered in peanut butter a good snack for mass building? It's filling and tastes good with some water, but I dunno much about nutrition.

2 Katanas 2 Longswords 1 Longbow with at least 30 arrows 4 Daggers 1 Rottweiler And my step-dad has a sniper rifle of some sort, not sure what kind, and I have a suspicion it would not be very useful in close combat

Breakdancing? -
I can't imagine why you'd really want to get fat. I can understand wanting to bulk up and stuff, but who really wants a gut?

I like to use a crescent kick to the head area with my right foot (out of a right foot back fighting stance) followed up by a spin rear with my left. It's kind of hard to follow that up with any hand motions so I typically like to make my exit. If I wasn't fast, this would be a miserable failure as well.

You mean you have to memorize the school's philosophy? Could you give me an example? I never have had problems memorizing techniques (and all their cool names) or kata, but that may be because I'm young.

I agree. That guy knew what he was doing, and he could easily get in trouble for it too. And no, I can't recall any take-downs in TKD either.

When did YOU start in Martial Arts?
DKizzle replied to KickChick's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I took TKD for about 3-4 years starting when I was 9. Then I started taking Kenpo last May and I'm still doing that. -
I take Parker Kenpo, taught by Jim Clapp, 8th Degree Black Belt, who is on Parker's family tree, though I don't know much about that really.
