  1. hard to tell, but since there are no large shaolin temples that actually teach shaolin kungfu and not some form of wushu, it could be a big scam. if you wanted to find a real shaolin temple it wont be a big pagoda filled valley with foggy mountains in the back ground from the 15th centuary. i went to a shaolin school with only around 50 students and 3 teachers. and that was not a fake wushu one like most are today.
  2. Its true what you say, i got belts, but i would not realy think about them, i to dont think belts are nessesary, they are used to seperate people into classes of there skill in big Kungfu schools, but if there are just a few people in a school less than 50, belts seem pretty pointless,
  3. when i was in training in shaolin it cost 200$ a year, for students out of asia it costs 1000$ a year.
  4. you need to hit him, but first if i were you i would do some muscle training and then kick his *. and if he is stronger than you take him by surprise and hit him when he least expects it. well that is what i would do in your situation, but you may not like this idea.
  5. try going somewhere where there are no ciggarettes and staying there for a while until you learn to live without them

  7. in the long term it will make your knees stronger, but it can realy hurt when doing some basic things if you do alot of the same move but it stops after a while.
  8. I do not believe in death, Death is an illution of mankind invented to explain what most people dont understand, much like most religions
  9. That looks like the school i went to, but im not sure, is it in beijing?
  10. it depends how mutch you are willing to put in a day, a teacher cant make you great at kungfu you have to do it yourself, if you want to use it extremely effectivly i would suggest 3 hours of training a day, if you realy want to be excellent at it i would go to a chinese shaolin kungfu temple/school. in my opinion this is the only way you can get very good at this, there are not many schools which do this martial art though in most western countries. if you do not want to know alot in great detail you can find things on the internet and teach yourself from them.
  11. hi, i have recently been doing alot of training, i started getting a pain in my back a couple of days ago on my upper right hand side of my back, i would consult a docter of acupressure or acupuncture, but in this glorious westernised world i could not find one. and the only way for me i think to find one near by is back near my home 10,000 miles away, so... i was wondering if anyone had any stretches/ techniques which could help?
  12. shaolin kungu is a branch of shaolin buddhism so yes. 50%
  13. in my eyes he is far to young to be a teacher he is not old enough to have collected enough knoledge yet.
  14. no im pretty sure that you cannot do that, i went to a kungfu school and we never were taught anything about exploding hearts, but yu can stop a hart by hitting it, and puncture the upper stomach with your hand and take the heart out. but when would this be any use to anyone? if you were aiming on killing someone you could just kick them very hard in the head or neck.
  15. racism dose not seem as bad of a problem, but when me and my friend were trying o see who could do the higher kick in a park, some 16 year old mother with here 12 year old husband looked at us and said, "Look at those two bruce lee guys from japan doin karate, i bet i could smash there faces in." they then called the police when started practicing to fight with each other beacause they thought we were going to attack them when they were 200 meters away. we dident get arrested but we got fined. and when the police were there talking to us, they were stood in the background doing the slitty eyes gesture to us, and im pretty sure that these two cops were thinking the same as them. im sure that this was ignorant and racism.
  16. I have been practicing "internal arts" when i was severn. i am now 16
  17. most people here seem to be from america, i am from a farm in mongolia
  18. i carry one in my bag all the time i only use it for training perpose when i get some free time in a park or at school, i would never use it to beat somebody up with, even if i was threatened.
  19. if you want to toughen up the soles of your feet i would suggest alot of walking, bear foot walking in perticular, but in your country you may seem strange walking around with no shoes on, doing alot of walking i find toughens the soles of feet. (around 6 miles per day in a 2 weeks stopped me from getting blisters)
  20. i first properly started when i was 5, i would probably suggest that you try not to do alot of stretching (unless it is basic) as it can be painful for young children, giving them a sense of balance is the best place to start i would think, as in balancing excersises, im not sure if you teach about the 3 dimensions of fighting? that is a simple thing for them to learn, it was one of the first thing i learn.
  21. my favorate quote from when i first go in england, I am Popkov, i chop wood. when i am at home i chop wood and make furniture and sell them for money
  22. i always thought the nunchucks were chinese, they were supposidly first made as a weapon to through to catch animal and the rope or chord between would rap around there legs or somthing along that line and it had been developed by making the rope smaller and swapping with chain, and extended the wooden parts so that they will server better as hand weapon
  23. the one time i got i na fight, i first hitwith my heal in the chest of one of the chav, then i side kicked another one after doing a fancy turn, i put no power in it but it scare the chav group away.
  24. falling how do you say it off the highest ballance pole, im not sure what it called in english, i fell about 6 ft and broke my ankle, with a bone through my skin, I found this very embarrasing as i was the first person to get up there in the morning, and it was infront of my teacher, but there is one thing i am happy that that happened for, whenever i get hurt in anyway in a practice or match, i just remember how i hurt my ankle and i almost not notice the pain.
