Some teenagers but not all are very disrespectful of people authority and property. I think, being a parent myself, that allot of this behaviour stems from the home and some of the laws governing how parents can raise their kids and not for the likes of MTV. How often have you heard of kids sueing their parents etc because they don't like the way they are disciplined. Don't get me wrong I do not agree with physically abusing kids but there has to be an element of discilpline and respect instilled from a young age. I am sure that if all of us who are now adults and even parents look back objectively we will see we were all a little rebellious, it's part of being a teenager.

Age and the Martial Arts
Ryukyu1 replied to three60roundhouse's topic in Instructors and School Owners
I have seen clubs that run a junior syllabus and then when the student s reach a certain age can then progress to the senior syllabus. If they were a junior black belt the would hold that grade and progress throught the adult programme because lets face it you can't really be teaching 10 year old junior black belts about striking pressure points. -
What makes a person a great fighter...

Nasty and agressive are good. The size and weight thing are debatable. I am not physicall too big so would not dream of matching up strngth Vs strength but would rather get a quick shot in at a crucial point and then hall A** out of there. -
What happened last night in Taekwondo

I don't think the instructor should have brought the student to bare like that infront of the class. He should be respectful of his students if he wants the same respect back, quite frankly if he was embarrassed by her walking out well tough! He asked her the question she answered and he basically made her out to be a liar in front of the class :kaioken: Who is to say her uniform did not get a little wrinkled during the class..it does happen. -

that may very well in the ring but you generally don't get the time in the street to start looking for their weaknesses. You have you react instantly and depend on your strengths and hope all the training pays off. Being sly also counts for allot, if you are trapped in an aggressive situation with no other way out other then fighting, you need to be able to strike first and may the shot count. -

I am sure if you train hard whether it by Kempo, Tkd, kickboxing, the list goes on, you will pick up something within your training that you can apply on the street. I have to agree with taezee even though I have not trained in TKD it is an extremely popular art, surely that stands for something -

mastertae what research tools are you using for studying pressure points and learning how the body works. I am looking for more information about this type of thing on the web. Are there any books or links on the web you can suggest?? -
Sounds great...I'm now totally hooked to the forums.

I think the moral of the story here is don't leave Javi alone with a lighter  Only kidding Javi, it's very good. Did you come up with it yourself? -
There has definetly been some dodgy decisions. It will be interesting to see how the powers that be deal with it especially now with the official complaint from Russia.

I wear Top Ten Head gear also. The reason I bought it was that the first headgear I had slipped all over. With the Top ten when you buy a specific size you can then adjust it both in the chin strap and also at the back. I find it is shaped in a manner that doesn't restrict my vision or movement and most importantly for me...it doesn't move.

Cheers Doug, we cover them also, I'm just on that endless search for knowledge!
