  1. you think it's easy to execute? in competition? I've found that in competition, it's rather hard to pull off - almost impossible - unless you do it in an unorthodox manner, such as angling across them and attacking the opposite leg, as opposed to the normal straight forward variation. i agree totally
  2. I have done shotokan and i do judo, and it works very well together
  3. it depends on your age, because bjj is not a little kids' hobby. It has very cruel locks and may not be good for small kids
  4. What is the best band? Please vote
  5. IF you need to fight with a big fat guy then its not wise to use grapple cause the big fat guy might be very strong, so i preffer hitting and kicking. and you can always run away from a big fat guy unless you are one yourself
  6. i think i can't go and see any judo competitons i mean olympics. because olympics were in finland last time 1952, and i think olympics wount come to finland for a long time
  7. Judo. all judokas have great reaction speed, and in judo match you waste energy a lot more than for example in karate match. Because in judo match you can't rest a second. even though it looks like judokas are standing still they are losing energy because they have to stay alerted and look for opening places and do things like that. so the ultimate sport art is JUDO

  15. The rules of judo will give you bad habits not so much the techniques. -Limited time allows you to turtle and wait for a standup insteasd of escaping. -Lack of leg/ankle locks -neck cranks I also wouldent say BJJ standup teaches you bad habit but simply there isint enough of it in alot of school..but what is taught is usually good..just basic. if you don't try anything or try to escape you will get a warning which gives your opponent a point! and if you don't escape in the 25 seconds you have you have lost so i really think that you don't know what you are talking about!!!
  16. yeah a VERY BAD idea!!!
  17. Judo sound perfect for you since you have long legs and long arms and since you are quick and flexible. you better give it a try!!! judo is great!
  18. I guess they work against a little smaller opponents but when you strike with elbows remember the opponent might get a good lock on you ... if he or she(i hope you never fight against women) knows martial arts
  19. Which is the best Judo throw answer the question
  20. Well it works for me pretty well very often
  21. Just wanting to hear from your experiences in a match situation. I often get stuck with trying hip throws and my opponent trying to counter them. What do you think is the best throw in a match. I prefer Tomoenage. It is the throw that i've got most ippons.
  22. Tomoenage is a throw that looks very cool when done right and it is VERY effective. We had matches in our Judo practises and i throw my friend with tomoenage and my sensei started to laugh and said that it was a perfect throw and the throw of the week.
  23. if he is swinging and you get close he is extremly easy to throw with Osotogari, Deashibarai, Ouchigari, Kouchigari, or any other fast leg throw.
