  1. IMO what happened to Showmanship ? I think you (anyone) need to play to your audience, not at the price of losing your concentration. I think you want to excite the people watching and seperate yourself from the judges. Have fun and keep going to competitions, you'll get over it, I know you will Kaos666!
  2. I watched Kill Bill 2 last night, I didn't enjoy it as much as one. I liked the Damoe deleted scene, the fight scene between Uma and Daryl and the Cruel Tutelage of Pai Mei.
  3. Hello Typhoon, Welcome to Karate Forums!
  4. Hello Typhoon, Welcome to Karate Forums!
  5. IMO ethinicity? (ethnicity ?) does not matter. Origins are a prerequisite unless it is the Founder.
  6. Ok, forget the lesson, focus on the Honeymoon!
  7. Hi, welcome to Karate Forums ! My PC is not the greatest so waiting for the entire page was toooo much. I've never heard of this style so I cannot comment on it, however my style as well as others have a workout called "pain resistance." In CLF we call it Horse Stance Training... Making your body like steel has been around for a long time with no other secret than daily, consistant, training. Belts or Sashes are not that old, so that is not suprizing. Are they "elite" ? I have no idea, but the word suggest the best or most powerful of a group. Which group ? no clue.
  8. That's great news ! Thanks for sharing, I've been thinking about your original post. It sounds to me that your a very good parent; stick with that. Also IMO if you just have your children around you while you train I think that over time it will motivate them. Happy Training !
  9. Just make sure it's anchored well, lag bolts instead of nails. I have only use a makiwara for a few months while training in Shorin Ryu Karate. I'm all for conditioning and beleave it will help you. Work hard and Happy training Tang soo do guy!
  10. Do the best that you can to move on with your life. Don't get to hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. Spend time with your family, friends, and yourself. You alone will ultimately have to bare this. Do not do anything stupid, you'll regret it. From my own experiences I wish I could help and I as well as others here are trying to do the best we can. As a fellow human being I too know the feelings of a broken heart and it can be overwelming to say the least and I would not wish it apon anyone. How you deal with it is what I can suggest, you may meet someone else and wonder why you didn't break-up sooner. You can walk upright and smile even if your miserable inside; no easy task. Hang in there !
  11. Go For It !!! I think it's an awsome idea and one you will never forget.
  12. "You're not relaxed! You're not relaxed! Not being relaxed means that you are ready to receive a beating." ..... Master Yang Ch'eng-fu
  13. Your Dojo, School, Instructor, or teacher should let you know what you need (equipment) and if any grading is done.
  14. IMO, I would have to give isometric excersizes their due when it comes to building real strength without bulking-up.
  15. " The only real reason is that I hate it when kids my age are stronger than me." IMO you should avoid this kind of thinking because it takes your focus away, it sounds like your fitness level is good. I suggest that you work on your all-around strength and conditioning and plan your long-term goals. I believe in slower, daily, disiplined training. We are all different and have are own unique strengths and weaknesses so stop hating others (easier said then done). Happy Training Radok!
  16. Apart from my daily routine of standing meditation, TCC twice in the morning, twice in the evening and forms practice I try to put myself in non-expected enviorments. Let me explain, if I wake up a little earlier in the morning I'll get dressed and walk up to the top of a hill just outside town and watch the sunrise. While I'm at home doing nothing that important out of the blue I'll drive down to the river south of town and dive in. I free-climb (no ropes) whitch I feel help my mind with problem-solving. When I park my car at the grocery store I'll stand on top of the roof, I get strange looks from people (my wife), but I also get a different look at the world. My friends and I will throw things at each other when we least expect it. I've often been jealous of "The Pink Panther" in that I wish I had my own "Kato!". Geez's I am so weird.....lol
  17. My friends and I were in a bar celebrating a Band's first gig when a fight (bar brawl) broke out. There was maybe 40 people in the bar that night and while people swung at each other, pushed and shuffed others over tables, a few beer bottles thrown. I was very happy with my skills to worm my way out of the bar to safety and watch it to the end. Waving to a few of the men as they were hand-cuffed and takin to jail.
  18. IMO weapons from the martial arts realm will always be practical weather we are allowed to carry them out in public is another question. I worry about my own weapons training in that I'll not take it serious enough.
  19. Hello Rick, Welcome to Karate Forums !
  20. Hello, Welcome to Karate Forums !
  21. ktasche, hello and welcome to Karate Forums ! I have a few questions. If it is a distance learning program then why are you looking for people in the Orlando, FL area (only) ? If this is a test , I see nothing wrong with you providing all the material, certificates, rankings with no costs to the "interested parties" ? Who is "we" ? Who are the "well known masters" ? Who are the "prestigious organizations within the martial arts industry." ? If this is a test for you to find out information, why is their a " list of our scheduled courses" ?
  22. superior martial arts; this IMO is a good general martial arts supply website. There are others that can provide you with options that can help you in your quest. As fars as books go, your local library, Barnes&Nobles, Hastings are great places to go read for free and get valuable knowledge on a variety of topics, martial arts or otherwise. If you want to look at different forms I would take a look around your community, ask local teachers if you can watch a class or two to get some kind of idea of that particular style.
