  1. thats what i thought when i first saw the previews...but its one of my favourite movies now...its totally original.
  2. im not very big..and usually not the agressor in sparring, but when i spar a large person like that, i like to through them off by coming in at them..and becoming more agressive..it will work somtimes because that person is not used to that situation...but not all the time. your best choice IMO would be to quickly step to the side as he moves in with the attack, exposing his side.
  3. Goju Ryu
  4. lol, i dont know about the effectivenss of these but come on, Scott Nelson - Nel-Son-Ryu .... thats just rediculous.
  5. continue training at your dojo regularly...as you said your just starting...these kicks take time to do well.
  6. I once took a taxi to my dojo...the woman driving made a remark that i look old enough to be teaching the class....im 17! i dont know where this mentality about martial arts being for little kids came from but i dont like it...there are very few who take me seriously when i say im a martial artist.
  7. wheres BMW?
  8. board breaking can be beneficial. in order to do so you must use proper technique, it also teaches you to hit through your target and not at it, which is one of sparrings disadvantages.
  9. i cant wait to go back to school! (grade 12)

  13. well im considering taking a second martial art (aikido) and ive just graded for shodan.... im not really sure because im haven't cross train with another dojo before, but i see alot of people saying it is good to develope a base before you go off and try somthing new.
  14. who cares? the only thing you can do is continue your training as you believe it should be.
  15. yes sir, i myself dont have a car right now but my whole family is into it. my dad has a bmw dinan 3 330ci, my mom has an audi S4 lowered with bilstien shocks, and my bro has a bmw 328is with carbon fibre hood and trunk, lowered, rieger front lip and 18 inch BBS wheels. as for me...i hope to get an old school japanese car (z31 300zx), or a late 80's bmw.

  19. well it sounds like your using your using shoulder and upper body to create power. your fist, and arm are only the method of delivery, develope power through your hips. -just a thought, i maybe wrong
  20. i agree, i have just reached shodan level and understand now how it is the beggining, but ive been training for eight years now. theres no way i could see myself reaching this undstanding in a year especially if i was 13 even if i was training every day of the week.
  21. i wouldnt call it innovative id call it rediculous. goju orignated from china and also gets some of it roots from the white crane style of kung fu. add anymore chinese aspect and you might as well call it kung fu
  22. right now i study goju ryu and would like to take up aikido at the same time. i think they would be a good match for me.
  23. not really, its not a martial art.....its more like how to escort out a bad guest, without hurting them. although VERY effective
