Shigeru Oyama created World Oyama Karate in 1981 No relationship to Sosai, he is now head of his own style, World Oyama Karate based in New York. He is no longer under the kyokushin banner ever since 1981 forming his own style so the site that was refering to has little to do with Kyokushin there is no Kanku symbol or japanese kanji "ultimate truth"

From the style i come from if i left after gaining my shodan then came back and said i had to start at 10kyu then i would not be happy. Kyokushin grading involves 40 rounds of full contact sparing ..not aiming at the head... the grading goes for about 4-5 hours in which one and a half hours of that is fighting. very physical and mental test. In which when you recieve it you know that you have worked extreamly hard for and mentally awarding of the achievment

within our style it's $30 for a Kyu grade and $100 for shodan. once your a shodan you dont pay training fees or any other belt onwards eg, Nidan onwards is free

All that was to be made, was a list of name style and rank but that may be a little hard for a particular person. the message was posted as a Yudansha list! just to see the range of styles and grades.

The Oyama Karate site is a splinter off Kyokushin and has made his own style . the guy who owns it name is oyama no relation to Mas Oyama there for the videos are very different to those within Kyokushin. OSU But that is through a Kyokushin base i have also seen ossu ..but only through a canadian Kyokushin site

Many times i have and other members of my style go into kata tournaments of Kyokushin and do well. If we were to go into tournaments from other styles we do not so well. Should the judges of the kata be worried about if it is true to there style or should it be based on the ability strength speed and concentration of the kata. I beleive it show be ability strength speed and concentration of the kata. and to try and make it fair after all we are all martial artists compeating for the same thing
