  1. So you can go every day? And follow lessons? Or train in the dojo on your own?? I pay 160€ for 4 months, 3 lessons a week (80min/lesson) , Shaolin KF.
  2. 4.5 only been training for 6-7 months now so... I'm just a rookie
  3. Drunken Monkey now I understand a little bit more. Maybe it is better if we post how a training looks like in our school. First of all, we do +/- 10 min of stressing exercises. Then we do basic punches, in mabu, ... After that we continue learning the form that we are studing (first one is Tombei Boxing, others are Tsau hong Tsuan Boxing,...). If you don't practice our form we pratice some basic little "forms" like * Ma bo zhong quan * Ma bo bian gong bo zhong quan shang bo * Po bo bian gong bo zhong quan shang bo These are not parts of a bigger form. I mean we don't break forms into chunks. ..... After that there are normaly some stick exercises. To finish again with stretching and sitting a couple of min in Mabu. That generaly is the way a training works in our school. Plz comment on that + how were you thaught Shaolin? Greetzz ChenZy
  4. sAtelitte, could not have said it better.
  5. no we don't have stripes
  6. Drunken Monkey in the world today, in europe, if you don't have belt how will a school keep his students?? Every student wants to make progress. This is an easy way to let them show they are making it. And believe me before you'll get your first belt you have to do one hell of an exame. 2ndly, if you got 50 students some are training for 3years others for 6 months, you can't train them together, there is no way you can. Cause you can only preform some of the moves if you have a good basis knowledge. So the belts are also used to split the group in an advanced course an a beginners course. 3thly blackmantis asked me with kicks we learn in Shaolin Kung Fu.. so I sumed some up I can preform or I've seen more advanced students do. So to get to the point , my school isn't messy at all, it is actually very structured. And about the belt system, here is a little bio of my sifu He recently also got the "Golden Sun" from I.J.J.I.C. So I would say I think he knows what he is doing, so who am I to judge wether we need or need not a belt system. Greetzz ChenZy
  7. yeah it looks like a mixed school, some kung fu , some karate, boxing..
  8. k, then I think I'm 7th Kyu cause my belt system is black, brown, blue, green, red, orange, yellow , white, nothing. (not really sure about red doh) And I'm a white belt. So that makes me 7th Kyu
  9. History of Bok Fu The following text is condensed from the “Five Elders of Sil Lum Gee” by John F. Di Virgilio. The text in its entirety can be found at https://www.wing-chun.com/elders.html Bok Fu Do, or Way of the White Tiger, is a branch of martial arts that has its origins in ancient Chinese Kung Fu. The creator of ancient Bok Fu was a Shaolin monk and Taoist swordsman named Fong Sai Yuk (also known as Fong Do Duk). Fong Sai Yuk also invented a “soft” form of martial arts known today as White Tiger Tai Chi. Just a little something to get to know the style. Greetzzz ChenZy
  10. I'm just a beginner to (6 months) so I don't know all the moves, espacially in english. But we have butterfly kicks, roundhouse (from out -> in and from in -> out, so both ways) , roundhouse 360° , then a cool running 180° roundhouse (for if you are beeing chased). Then the usual sidekicks. We also got a kick where you do a side kick but you do not hit the face you let it pass and when i've passed the face with your leg you pull it back, so you can hit him in de neck, behind the head. Not an easy move to perform but a nice one when done correctly. We also got some legsweeps and stuff. These are the basics. And animal forms let's just say for you first belt you need to know 32 animal forms, and that's just serie 1 one of the is Tiger (the first one) then snake, panther, mantis, eagle, hawk.... So in Mantis Kung Fu, do you have weapon training?
