  1. I hate the term, we should just be all called martial artists.
  2. Welcome to the forum. I wasn't aware the ranking was done by the colour of shorts. Can you tell me the structure?
  3. What worked for me is this: Stand in ready position while a partner throws punches at your face from constantly varying angles. You aren't allowed to blink, move, or respond to the punching in any way. The moment you lean back, to the side, or forward -- or blink -- you do something like push-ups.
  4. My advice is unconditional patience. Train hard and keep training. Seek advice and remove your ego from the training and sparring practice.
  5. Congratulations on the graduation
  6. I just burn off data disks. I don't bother with applications like that, honestly. It takes less time & effort IMHO.
  7. I started when I was 8 learning quite a bit about modern weapons, since my father is a gunsmith. But I didn't start a physical martial art until I was 10.
  8. I'm referring to the latter, I hope that's what SC_CKD was talking about
  9. I agree, demonstrations and community involvement are always quite easily done. They get the name out there as well. Advertising in the Sports section of local newspapers when you have exams and tournaments are also good to get more people watching.
  10. I'm not from your area, but are you asking for someone to teach you or are you looking to provide private lessons?
  11. I sometimes feel some tension when waiting for my turn to test, but when it starts I am having no problems.
  12. Hm I don't feel it is mandatory. But it does provide you with balance training and it is helpful.
  13. I have a few friends who carry these and they feel it is effective - the training is quite pragamattic which is why many people will use them. They are very effective against temples, wrist bones, eye sockets, and skulls.
  14. This is going to be the geekiest response. I actually built my home system. I purchased the circuit board, the chips, the capacitors et al separately. I then took a few weeks and built it up. Yes, I'm that much of a geek.
  15. I'm kind of interested in it myself, but it is very challenging to research all the information.
  16. Wow this is quite a list - for me I have two resolutions. The first being to seriously commit to a healthier lifestyle including eating habits & exercise. The second being to meditate much more regularly.
  17. That's what I eat in the morning. Sometimes I'll head to a breakfast sandwich at a restaurant but I don't like to make a habit.
  18. Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
  19. Welcome to the forum I'm sure you have a great deal of information to share in.
  20. Hey hey welcome to the forum. Glad to have you.
  21. Welcome aboard, you should post in the Karate forum about this style a I've not yet heard about it.
  22. Hi Franky, welcome to the forum. Good luck on your upcoming examination, don't forget to talk about it in the testing & grading section.
  23. Welcome D+C, we're all friendly here so don't worry about us just tolerating. We develop friendships quite fast.
