  1. Grrr I'm still a student...no ideas about future jobs yet though. My dream is to do karate all day every day though!
  2. That sounds SO like the one I ate last week (actually I had two! ) I agree about the salad, they always put way too much rabbit food in them, it uses up precious doner space!
  3. Euwww, kebabs are awful! But that doesnt stop me eating them whenever I'm offered!
  4. Are there any more like that?
  5. 'Never eat yellow snow'
  6. True...I'm not a big coffee fan actually, but I love the smell! There's a market in a town near me where there's this stall with loads of different flavoured coffee beans, I have to smell them all every time I pass it. But once I bought some of the beans and they tasted awful! I was so disappointed
  7. Bacon! Or hyacinths.....or my fiance's aftershave.....apple strudel.....golden syrup.......chocolate......new clothes.....forests after its bin raining.....the sea
  8. I agree. The biggest down fall of the third movie was the lack of actual people fighting (my favourite bits!). it was all just machines. impressive , yeah, - exciting, no.
  9. Oh, now come on! Although I admit that 2 and 3 wern't as good as the first, they didn't 'really suck'!! Compare them to most of the *$%@ thats out there and they're still amazing films! Well......the third was the worst IMHO but the second? With that chase on the freeway? Awesome!!!
  10. That sounds like a cool game - if I was any good at push ups!!! Anyway kotegashiNeo, I agree with you, its important to develop skills, strength and reflexes for martial arts. Whilst its a nice idea to think that kids will learn all they need through doing drills, basics and 'proper' martial arts stuff, the fact is that very few kids are willing to do that. They have such short attention spans that you have to give them varied lessons (by varied I mean different 'intensity' stuff - some basic techniques, then a game/quiz etc). Otherwise you'll end up with a load of unenthusiastic kids or worse still, an empty dojo!
  11. In our dojo we do have some problems with the really really young children (some only 3/4 I think) because its true, they do wander off a lot and try to mess around a bit. I was teaching some tiny beginners on Tuesday and one of them kept jumping around screaming 'My FEET HURT!' In the end I made him sit out, but as soon as we started to play some games his feet were miraculously cured. I guess all kids are different though..some of them were really eager to learn even at such a young age. I think the key is to have a bit of both..do a few basics and so on and then test them on what they know or have a game. That way they'll stay interested (hopefully!) and have a good time, which is the main idea with smaller kids IMHO. Then, when they're a bit older they'll probably get better at concentrating and learn a lot faster.
  12. We do all the shotokan katas, as well as quite a few of the organisation's own katas such as Yontikan (loads of gyaku gedan barais in it, very confusing). Well, I say 'we' - but I personally can only do a few!
  13. I guess my fear of losing a limb fits with your theory of everyone being scared of the unknown. but i'm more scared of becoming physically dependent on someone. BTW I had a really scary dream about sharks last night, I think i've now got sharkophobia too!
  14. I've never met anyone that daft, thinking that a haggis is an animal! Actually this evening I tried 'vegetarian haggis' - a paradox in itself. It was alright though, tasted a bit like hash browns!
  15. Hee Hee, now us tall people know all your tactics! I'm quite tall with very long legs, but when I'm fighting someone taller than me (there is one guy at my club) I tend to stay near and try to duck all his punches! It sometimes works but I'm not that great at fighting so I generally lose anyway
  16. Hmmm I don't really know. I'm not really in a position to comment on MA guys in general, but I do have my very own MA guy and get on well with everyone at my clubs. I guess we all share a passion for MA so its a conversation starter at least!. Also, the MA guys I know all have a good sense of humour, which is very important to me!
  17. SURGICAL SPIRITS!!! Ok, it stinks and hurts if you put it on raw blisters but it works for me. I started using it about six months ago after getting such bad blisters I actually couldn't walk, but haven't had any blisters since
  18. I'd say I was just about regular really - 5 foot 7 ish, slim-ish...don't own scales though, that's just scary!
  19. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Where did you hear that?
  20. I'm not afraid of dying since I believe in an afterlife, but then again I hope it doesn't happen soon! I'm actually more afraid of losing a limb or getting a horrible disease than dying.
  21. EXERCISE? First thing in the morning??? It's strenuous enough for me just to get out of my nice cosy warm bed on the morning, let alone do anything else! No, I couldn't do any kind of exercise before 9am and even that would be pushing it!
  22. $2,234,400.00 is what I'm worth, apparently. But I did make up some of the SAT scores and such...don't understand the US exam/education system at all!
  23. What do you mean by a different drinking culture? Having never visited the US I'm kinda interested
