  1. I much prefer summer in terms of temperature. But I like to watch things come alive in the spring too.
  2. Congratulations. The failures I have seen at black belt gradings have all been due to either failure to break or going blank and forgetting katas.
  3. That is it. It is pretty cool competition to watch too.
  4. you are young enough that with gradually loosing weight your skin is elastic enough to not develope the same problems an older person would. Also you will still grow taller which will also help.
  5. Improving the grip also usually helps strenghten the muscles of the forearm. Improving the wrist and forearm strenght would also improve the strenght of the punch.
  6. Welcome to the forum.
  7. I know what you are talking about I just can't think of its name.
  8. Never forget that a persons website is based on their views and opinions. What one person finds their personal truth is not necessarily the same for anyone else. For the most part good instructors do not tell a student that they suck. They point out errors in the students technique and help them correct them.
  9. For the most part martial arts training is fairly gadgetless compared to other past times. The piece of equipment that is most often discussed is what gi is your choice.
  10. Things like tennis balls can also be used as grippers.
  11. There are many types of small handheld weapons. All of them have techniques that can be applied to a kubotan. Look for things on tekkos, yawara, etc.

  14. Welcome to the forum.
  15. I have done the other version of the gi mispack. I showed up with two pairs of pants a time or two.
  16. You also neglect to mention ages and situations.
  17. Better not do that to my cat. And especially not in the new super flusher that inhabits our throne room. That thing might just flush my little darling away.
  18. Glad to have you in our midst.
  19. Welcome to the forum.
  20. That would depend on the type of movement I am doing.
  21. It is something that should happen gradually over time and with experience. Competent sparring partners should help too.
  22. Welcome to the forum.
  23. Lots and lots of reps. Do it several thousand times then ask again.
  24. First off this forum has a very strict anti-profanity stance. Efforts at going around the auto censor are not appreciated and will not be tolerated. Second it is mandatory here that respect be shown to all posters and their opinions. Please show that you have the intelligence you think you do by finding a way to express yourself without talking like you live in a garbage can. Now not to quash discussion I was not able to view the first link to the kata. But as to the isshin ryu link they do katas a bit differently and with a much higher stance than most other styles in general. So to try and stimulate some postive discussion do you view this kata as a one involving dynamic tension, hard stances what do you think this kata is trying to teach ?
