The problem with punching "through" the body is that, many beginning students will take that as meaning make contact and push. And we all know how dangerous leaving an arm fully extended is. Advanced students can work on punching "through" the body, by turning the hip and shoulder into the punch, but also snapping it back

Personally I dont think that it is a good thing. While there may be some advantage to observing how the Black Belts perform their techniques. I think that if the instructor had enough assistants. he should break up the class a little (Beg, Int.&Adv). Because when beginners dont get individual attention, they may spend a great deal of time practicing a move the wrong way. Which I believe leads to bad habits that take twice as long to break.

I know that nowadays it is pretty rare, but does anyone know of some Martial Arts Academies in America, that function like some of the Wushu schools in Asia. What I mean is, a school almost like college, where you live there and train all day. For me that would be SO COOL!
