Just a week to go now! I've heard that the places are going very quick so if you want to be there best get your money in! Don't miss out! Let me know if you're going and we can meet up. Terry

Bloody hell!! I thought you died in the Great war! Wot you up to?

Keep an eye on Way of the Spiritual warrior (Mind, Body, Kick, * Moves - MBKAM) for some quality seminars and United Goju Seminars have a few good un's too. https://www.thewayofthespiritualwarrior.co.uk https://www.freewebs.com/unitedgoju

I do not believe in gradings per se. You either know it or you don't. I find the idea of demonstrating x amount of kicks or strikes kinda humurous. Personally for black belt I like to see a certain degree of understanding and the correct use of movement and application. Not so much about how much but how well......

I have runa club for almost a year now and although I've had a few people through the door I am down to just one regular member. Can you give me any advertsing advice to get em rolling in? (I don't teach kids)

Theres a seminar with Gavin Mulholland & Iain Abernethy in Solihull in Feb. I've trained with both guys and they are fantastic it should be a superb pairing! This is the site for it https://www.practicalkarate.com Anyway if anyone else from the forum is thinking about popping along we could meet up. So how about it?
-
It's as effective as your friend makes it. Goju should be a very practical close in fighting system. Will it complement tsd? That depends on your ability to combine the two systems, but yes you should find that it makes you more comfortabel at a range that perhaps you are not so familiar with.

The event has been potponed until November now anyway
-
Erm...well I guess not. They've just reduced the cost of the seminar from £30 to £20 if you prepay for your tickets....

Hey guys, my mate emailed me the details to a tensho seminar in the UK. I'm gunna go along should be great! I've trained with both the instructors and in all honesty I think that I can confidently say that they are the best I've had the pleasure of learning from. A very good partnering indeed. I do Goju but kata tensho is easy to leran and the principles transcend style. Is any one else going? Here is a link to the site: https://www.freewebs.com/tensho

How'd I miss this one!! I'm a Goju guy from the UK, 2nd dan. All you Goju guys should check out my home page, it'd be great to see some of you on there....
-
There's plenty of history on the net. Is there something specific you're looking for?
-
That's a shame you missed a great day of superb tuition and tomorrow looks to be just as promising
-
Somethiing loose will be fine. Spectators do not have to pay.
-
Great I'll see you there. I'll be the one in the white gi and black belt. OK?
-
I'm not far from Chatham at all. Bout 1/2 hour. I'm surprised that there is such a lack of interest in this. Is it because most of the guys on this site are from USA or is just that people aren't interested in Goju?
-
Me too! I often find myself doing it in a tai-chi kinda way and it feels great! I do enjoy practicing all my kata and exploring the intricacies. Master Jules your insight into Seisan may help these guys out http://www.gojuforums.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=420

This seminar is next month does anyone want to meet up?

Miyagi developed tensho from the Chinese form "Rokkisho" 6 wind hands. I cannot claim to have much depth on this kata but am aware that it develops the power of the waist. Mike Clark has written a superb article on the subject. You can read it on his website: http://www.gojukarate.co.uk/ under articles, second from bottom.
-
How about you show us what you know I see that Steve Rowe is going to be teaching he's a tai-chi expert. You may learn some stuff to compliment your wing chun. But yeah it would be good if some of us on here could get together
-
I know sensei Jervis, nice guy, good karateka. Grrr...I know the guy that organised it. His karate is okay but not much of a patch on the guys at this seminar!
-
IOGKF It is an open course for anyone interested in the Goju system. GKI are only the financial backers. They have just put an online booking option up via paypal, there's a discount for advance booking or you can pay on the door. Where do you train Uncle Jimbo?
-
Is anyone else going to this seminar? https://www.ugs2004.com I've been to a few Goju courses but have never seen so many experienced sensei all from different associations in one place. Looks very promising!
-
Ok, ok In all honesty I am completely bored with GKR bashing even the GKR guys are at it Perhaps we should all keep our noses out and just let you guys get on with it......
