anybody a Marine or gonna goto the marines
sansoouser replied to Shotokan_Fighter's topic in General Chat
my dad was a navy seal so now I am training to be one I don't know how it compares to the marines other than they just go on secretive missions not front line usually -
dobermans have stamina and companion and are good gaurd dogs, but both of my dogs are mutts one we saved from dying another we got as a puppy, when you save a dog you can tell they know you did something special for them and my dog is even more loyal than most other dogs I know, he knows what we did for him and he is an excellent dog. But then again there are pure breed dog rescues.

Tell me what you know about San Soo and your opinion on its effectivness on the street. Thanks

Yes, i've learned most of the dim mak strikes and yes some are just ment to knock the opponent out, my sifu did this to a thug when we were walking to a store when we got jumped. The guy pulled out a knife when my sifu grabbed his wristand applied a wrist lock then struck his skull and that knocked him out.

What is the reason why you take martial arts?

wing chun vs muay thai
sansoouser replied to kle1n's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
doesn't wing chun rely more on punches and muy thai on kicks? So if thats the case it would depend on which you liked better but eventually to be a complete fighter if thats what you want you would need to take kicking too. -
Do any of you believe in the death touch? Not necassarily one that kills you with just a quick tap but maybe drop you to your knees or knock you down ( not in the groin ). I have had it done to me by my San Soo instructor and it is a wierd feeling but I feel down when he just ran his hand down by back pretty soft too. Theres another one where if you hit them there they will feel sick or ill in a few hours. So do you?

http://www.sageartsunlimited.com/articles/MA_Jul1980_Bruce_ToughestFight.html thats a link to fight Bruce Lee had with another master, Bruce views it one way the other guy views it his, Bruce claims to have had the guy on the ground wailing on him while the other guy says it was a tie and that Bruce Lee was fighting dirty not by the rules, his wife views the same was as him but other people there didn't.... you decide..

See in a martial art like taekwondo, judo, kung fu, karate or all of them for that matter take years to master so can it be said that it is effective? Then they have those " 4 week " classes that teach youy self defense like martial arts but you don't practise them as much as martial arts you just know how to do them but in martial arts you practise them for years. Ya see i'm saying is it worth doing martial arts for years or just learning some effective techniques for a few months or weeks?

Bruce Lee
sansoouser replied to Dragonias's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
But I guess JKD was just something he wanted people to adapt to their martial art that they already new like an expansion for a computer, something to improve it. -
I've used my skills a bunch of times mostly when I was a kid looking for fights. One time I was in a game a basketball and I was getting past this guy a whole lot ( he was the court bully ) so he got mad and got up all in my face, now at that time I had a short fuse not that I don't now but I can control it better so he shoved me once and started yelling again and went to shove me again this time I knocked his hands down then gave him a punch to the chin followed by a groin kick followed by an uppercut to another groin kick to a knee in his nose which sent him to the ground, then this next part i'm not proud of well i'm not proud of the whole thing but I grabbed the basketball and chucked it right at his nose. Now I don't know if his nose was already broken but it was broken the next time I saw him. But it may have worked out for the better because from then on when I was there he never bullied anyone.

Do what you can, they are trying to kill you. That means don't hold back if you get a chance to grab the wrsit break it, and then pound the living * out of them! Knock them to the ground then run off to somewhere safe. If you are truly fighting for your life never hold back, use throat, eye, and temple strikes to disable them. Hit there wind pipe hard and they won't even be able to swing another slash or punch. Let alone fight back.

What has martial arts done for you? Self defense? Self confidence? Self control? Or anything just like what it has done for you and please list how many years you have been doing it and your " art ."

sparring in win chung
sansoouser replied to kle1n's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
I do San Soo and you cannot spar in that the techniques are far to dangerous but we do practise blocking or diverting full force punches and kicks but do not apply the techniques full force just full speed, do you spar in wing chun full force?
