REAL Wing Chun vs Wrestling video.
Ti replied to TJS's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
In that scene the Wing Chun guy was expecting a upperbody approach by his opponent. It was HIS mistake not Wing Chun. By his body language you can tell he completely expected a an upperbody appraoch as opposed to the dive. If he was more prepared he cuold have kneed the guy in the face when he dove or kick him in the face. -
I learn at my university, too. I signed up for the class, btu I probably should have not signed up. Oh well a A is an A on my transcripts.
-
TKD too slow. Wing Chun much faster and responsive. Muay Thai works.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The tree that does not bend to the wind will break, but the tree that flexes will not. Always mix it up.

Ti replied to Ti's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
I do Karate. I was interested in learnign some basics to mix it up a bit. Wing Chun is more effective. IMO -
How do I tie my belt? I just got my 1st Gi today. Also which way is front for the pants? Is the bumped side the buttox side?
-
dang, 7 yrs and still no black. Gee and here I was Mr. Noob thinking like 3 yrs
-
So how long does it take to make it to black belt?

Use scotch guard. This will stop it from happening. Nobody seems to listen.

The Hulk would walk in and put both their candy arses in the trash QUICK. No matter how much space spidy has.
-
The REAL solution to preventing them is scotch guard. Spray it around the collar and this will allow the sweat to trail off, thus preventing the mess.
-
back fist works great. If you are in a position to use it, then use it by all means. it hurts.

uhhh there is still a shadow right? Isn't wong fay hong fictional? -
when I spar and it's time for the guy to wakl over it he looks ar me all weird for the sweat on the floor. It will make a puddle if my stay in one stance too long. Other wise they are very visable streaks as long as i move. It does kinda get in my way, I have nearly slipped a few times.
-
I'll ask my sensei once he gets back in town if I can wear wrestling shoes. This might just solve the problem. Thanks

Talc would only do so much, my feet keep sweating through out practice.
-
why does every love muay thai?
Ti replied to kle1n's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
spar with a MT fighter and find out first hand. -
I slip sometimes from my own sweat how about you guys?
-
Well I've been trying to hide it as best I can, so I don't think my sensei is aware of it yet. Never staying stationary for too long to let a big puddle form and always moving my feet to leave thin trails so they evaporate quickly. It's only durring sparring then it's time for me to defend and the guy has to walk over to my sweat do they kinda freak uot.
