Does Sensei Ron Bagley have anything to do with Shotokan Karate in Great Britain (KUGB)? I think I've heard of him? Good luck in your chosen martial art

What has Martial Arts done for you?
KUGB_Chris1985 replied to Kickbutt's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Martial Arts have done alot for me. Before I starter Shotokan Karate I was really shy and scared of confrontation, but now I've been doing Karate for 6 years and I am more out going and not 'scared' Karate has also taught me how to control my aggression coz I just let it all out on my sparing partner! (poor guy. Haha.) Karate has developed my personality alot as well as keeping me in good shape Oss -
I've just got some Nunchaku and I've been searching the net for hours trying to find some informative Nunchaku sites and found none. I know a few moves but if anyone knows of some decent nunchaku sites please, please tell me them Any advise is appritiated. Cheers.

Now ts757. you've forgotten the 2 broken noses, sprained wrist, dislocated shoulder, sprained ankle, numerous black eyes and I've had 4 ribs broken. Don't let this put you off. I only get injured so much because I go against the bigger boyz! But it's all fun!!! -
I have trained with many great KUGB sensei's like Enoeda, Andy Sherry, Frank Brennan etc. but I think Sensei Enoeda is the best of them. Apart from my Sensei, My Sensei is Matt Price- 4th Dan. and I think he's a great instructor and all round karateka. He's also the captain of the GB KUGB squad! theres more about him @ http://www.leedskarate.freeserve.co.uk

true, true! Well said Mr. ts757. I fully agree. My ego needs competition, It gives me such a buzz knowing in the next three minutes I could get some sort of injury or deal one out. -
My favourite kata is deffinatly Empi, I like it's combinations of controlled moves and fast, strong ones. I also like Jion which I had to learn for my 2nd Dan grading tomorrow. My favourtie Heian kata is Heian Yondan.

What are the orders of belts in your styles of karate? Most styles are different aren't they? The KUGB (Shotokan karate.) order is: white orange red yellow green purple purple & white brown brown & white brown & 2 whites. What are your orders?

I agree. My goal is to get to my 5th Dan and teach at my own club. Then I'd like to learn different styles and gain Dans in them. Sounds like a big goal. 2nd Dan in 5 Days??? Oss Chris Pullan -

I do Shotokan Karate and i'm a member of the KUGB (Karate Union of Great Britain). I've been doing it for about 6 years and it's the only style I've tried. I know a few people who have changed to Shotokan and they say that most of the katas are the same. I'm going for my 2nd Dan next week (10th June) and then i have to wait till i'm 21 to grade for my 3rd Dan. Wish me luck. Oss Chris Pullan P.S if you have any questions about the KUGB, please e-mail me and i'll do what i can to help

Hi Guys, I've been training for about 6 years and i'm going for my 2nd Dan on Sunday 10th June 2001, so I'm training about 5 times a week. I go to Harrogate Shotokan Karate Club and the Leeds Karate Acadamy in Boston Spa. I've been to lots of Competitions all over the country and won a few, but, I've just been moved up to the 16-21 year olds group and it's alot harder!
