  1. Actually, I'd love to see Jackie chan fight with a rocking chair sometime. I can see it now, "shanghai chair!" lol.
  2. Like rocking chairs? j.k.
  3. I have sparkly metallic chucks that have some sort of hologram on them. They were a present, anyone got any wierder chucks? homemade or store bought?
  4. our school has several nunchaku katas that are fairly simple, and some advanced ones, but they might have been developed for our school. I haven't seen them elsewhere.
  5. yeah...pool stick.....I never thought of that.
  6. toothpick, meaning slimmed down at the ends, right? I agree. thanks.
  7. don't we all? I've never had to diet. I have an ideal body, but that doesn't mean I'm healthy, I'm probably less healthy than most people. my doctor said to cut out simple carbs and processed fats, and while I look the same, I feel a lot better. Maybe when you are craving sweets or junk, go for your favorite fruit or veggie? I love them now.
  8. is it impossible for women to get six packs like men without steroids? Are they just meant to have firms abs w/o the pack? I know this is a wierd question, but there are quite a few women martial artists on this site.
  9. I wouldn't think you would have to move your hips much on those kicks if you are going for speed rather than power.
  10. I think a plain ol bo is great. don't get me wrong, chucks are my fave, and sais are flashy, but are you gonna find a pair of chucks on the ground when you want to fight. On the other hand, a broomstick, or branch, or something shaped like a bo is likely to be found. Plus, a wide range of styles use the bo staff. Most karate schools for sure. It's like our master says, if you want a weapon, buy a gun, but if you want to better yourself and learn grace and coordination, buy martial arts weapons.
  11. i kinda like pvc chucks with metallic coating, they are kinda flashy for demos and stuff.
  12. foam is more for training and sparring practice, you can't get the same speed and power as wood, I think, but they are definately a lot painless. (I learned with foam, and the bruises, had I survived training, would have been 50 times bigger with wood.
  13. I have a graphite bo, and I like it's light flexibility, however, I have never used any of the other kinds, and would like some opinions on which are good to use.
