  1. You never know when you could put somethin' like that to good use! Either way, thanx for your help on the subject(not including TKD_McGee, who I give the official title of fashist for his earlier and incredibly STUPID comment!) Anyway thanx. Post away if you find anything thats better.
  2. Chi is VERY real!! Mostly it helps to be naturaly sensitive though. When I spar with friends I can begin to predict their moves at points...imagine being one step ahead of your apponent. An experienced MA can do this easily becaues of their years of training they tend to be a lot more sensitive to Chi. People who just point, laugh, and judge are so friggin' stupid. A MA always need to be open to new ideas. [ This Message was edited by: Strife on 2002-04-14 19:39 ]
  3. Thats all well and good but you kickin' round the bag here. I agree that yes, its a good idea to have an instructor to show me. Im not old enough to join yet. I do plan to when i am though. I know the military is all about shooting, but thats not what im tryin' to do. Im just trying to personalize my style more and adding a few simple and effective moves. Not to mention that I live in a town which is no where near a city with a instructor past Tae Kwon Do USA, which in my opinion is a load of crap. Not to mention that I've taken the instructor who said "You're not experienced enough to fight the older guys!" I put him on the mat...hehe. Anyway, enough of my ramblings.
  4. For the record, Im no where near a rookie. Ive been training in freestyle martial arts for a few years now. I use JKD philosophy, with some things from muay thai, ninjutsu, boxing, etc. Im always looking to learn something new. That is why I posted this message. I would like to incorporate military styles into my training, and there is no where nearby for me to learn. Military styles are usually effective and are easy to add to my personal style.
  5. All ive heard so far is that if its within the "rules"! Sure, controled fights in the ring, I can see rules there of course. Ask yourself this, when you fight; do you fight to get your arse kicked? Or do you fight to win!? If your fighting to win, everything is legal and non-dirty!
  6. FIRST! JKD isnt just a fighting style, in a way its a life style! You dont learn JKD! It dosent have any set boundraies(hope thats how you spell it!) You can add in other styles to personalize it, like kickboxing, etc. When he said that no one could teach or learn HIS style, thats what he meant. Everyones style of JKD is gonna be different. Bruce Lee's way should be used as a building block to get yourself started.
  7. Weight training really helps you alot. It helps your bones get tougher, more muscle, and if you work right you get faster. You should also do alot of running, sucides. You should take up the sport rugby, or soccer.
  8. I need a site or just someone to tell me how to do some simple but effective moves, something maybe like what they teach military.
  9. Im a little of both, Im the passive dragon at first, but make me mad and you've unleashed the beast within.
  10. Ok i think im ready now what? The basics anyone?
  11. Can anyone give me any tips on getting ready to learn MuayTai? Anything in general will do from workouts(preferably indoors but WHATEVER you have will do!) Diets, i dont care i mean anything. Also if you have anything on learning MyauTai please tell me as well Thanx-
