  1. GOLDDRAGON.........you ever thought of writing a book.
  2. Im from california, but I just moved to kansas City Missouri. Where in Hawaii are you from? i have family in Laie and Maui.
  3. i know Muai Thai is a sport now. But was'nt it a actual form of combat at one time???????????????????????????????????????? Does anybody know?
  4. I consider myself a polynesian stylist one cause Im Samoan and I study Limalama(Samoan style) and I study kajukenbo(Hawaiin style) which is a ecelectic style that incorporates Tang Soo Do into its techniques . And my instructor was a student under master Hee Il Cho so I learned both kajukenbo style kicking and Tae kwon do style kicking. So there is a definte Korean influence in my training.
  5. Im orthodox, but i can fight both ways. I like to switch up to throw off my opponents.
  6. Condition your shins, i use to hit my shins either bamboo or with a metal rod. make sure its round. What you wanna do is tap not hitting it hard. And that after hitting it you wanna take what ever you hit it with and roll your shins. Tap it litely and gradually go harder. good luck.........
  7. Hey prodigy child, i give you much props, all i know is if they would have laughed at me I would have dropped one of them with the quickness. But than thats just the Samoan in me. I congratulate you for not dropkicking one of those foolz.
  8. Watch all the fighters in your division, watch for weaknesses, techniques that a fighter does often or a technique that he favors , see what kind of fighter he is..... is he aggressive, counter fighter etc... so that way if you happen to fight them you'll have something to work off. Also if youre fighting in a karate tournament using the point system, alot of the fighters will rush u. watch out for this and be prepared for it. They sometimes like to rush you right off the bat and catch you off guard its a good way to intimidate their opponents like what moobrack said. When you see them rushing quickly side step and throw a ridge hand strike. to the chest, head, whereever. The most important thing is the side step. You wanna make sure youre out of his way when hes rushing and just throw that ridge hand out you ll either hit him or he'll rush right into it. well i hope I ve been able to help you at all. I would write more but I dont wanna bore anyone. Peace!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I like Jackie Chan also, But I will have to say my favorite would have to be jet li.
  10. My favourite techniques is also mawashi geri(round house kick).mai geri(front kick), yoko geri(side kick) , Triangle choke. right cross, and the upper cut. just to name a few.
  11. Thanks for the welcome patrick and rushman. I think this is a pretty cool forum you guys got here.
  12. I think Kajukenbo, for those of U who dont know what Kajukenbo is.go and look it up.
  13. I think I saw a rerun of that, was it the U.S open creative breaking? Anyways I break but we break differently from what you saw. Those guys used alot of power you can tell by the way there feet leave the ground and how there hands go straight through the bricks. I learned to break by using speed, snap, and limited power. In my training I have to condition my hands. Especially my two knuckles. That hurts the most. Its all about Conditioning your hand and proper technique and practice, practice, practice
  14. you should check out Tadashi Yamashita's instructional videos, me and my instructors do demos sometimes and sometimes Sensei Butch Togisala performs his kama routine. In my opinion he is the MAN when it comes to kama.
