  1. I don't know if there are any threads like this one, I couldn't find one. Anyway, have you got a picture of yourself while performing your art in one way or another? Maybe even a video? Or just a picture of yourself? Well, I have one of me, https://www.angelfire.com/ut2/rpp/AnZ_2yrs.gif (about 16-17 years ago).
  2. Have you got any photographs and/or videos of any of your fights, 1ONEfighting?
  3. I kinda agree to TJS, something that I enjoy doing and I think is fun, something that would work on the street as well as in the ring, and of course how well I master it
  4. I'm not really that experienced grappler, and I've never been into a seriout fight before. However, if that happened, I'd try and put him to sleep using my fists. If he would try to hold my hands, I'd bite his arm like a turtle (they bite pretty hard!) and then I'd unleash feriocious powers from my inner self, try and look like a mentally challenged guy on a killing spree, and smash his head using my elbows till: he was knocked out/my elbows were vapourized. (Depends on the situation though:) Would probably not be that extreme if the fight was not that serious. However, the if attacker tried to kill me/my loved ones, I would be a bit.. harsh.)
  5. Started at my late 16's, now I'm in my early 17's
  6. And for all non-US citizens? (I live in Norway, Europe)
  7. Just a question of curiosity for my fellow nordmann (Bruce___L) What style do you practice, where do you practice it, and for how long have you? Cheers
  8. He shouldn't kick him, he should know that a drugged mad can take a lot of pain. How about a choke? Riiight.. He got knocked out while doing a perfect armbar? Err.. isn't that a bit.. well.. Well... I have no words Better give up ALL other MA's, as LETHALO can beat them all! *sigh*
  9. I'm no BJJ'er, but I'm a grappler. That's right, we have no syllabus, we just learn techniques and grapple without grading ourselves. It's an addition to karate and/or jujitsu. However, I'd choose between: Callmyfriendso, Rundo and of course Begdo. If that didn't work, I'd try to imitate Vitor Belfort or Mas Oyama. As well as making sure of that he is not able of reproducing.
  10. I'm hearing you lot talking about McDojo's all the time. And if I understand it right, it's a place where the colour of the belt is more important than anything else, and it's not very hard to get a black belt. Apart from that, how can you tell what is a McDojo and what's not? I kinda want to know, because I'm gonna start at a new place in July, and I want it to be top notch (gonna take up Krav Maga, grappling and Shootfighting)! Thanks
  11. Not if your name is Rickson, and you can call your brothers for assistance...
  12. I think shooto is shootfighting with punches allowed on the ground. And I would say that shootfighting is more than karate(?)/judo/muay thai and wrestling Where I'm going to train it, it's a mix of Boxing, muay thai, wrestling, bjj and sambo.
  13. As we don't do BJJ, we do grappling (it's just called grappling, we have no syllabus or anything like that). So we start out with the teacher learning us various techniques, about 3 every class. Then we get about 10 minutes on each technique, more or less, depends on how difficult it is. Then we use the rest of the time to do spar. Works greatly for me.
  14. At my dojo, it's training 7 days a week. The school offers grappling, jujitsu, karate and other lesser activites. We are free to use any classes without extra cost. It is about 30-35$ a month, not entirely sure.
  15. If you're looking for self defense, I've heard that Aikido will take long time to master. However, Aikido is a fine martialART Try out a class and see if you like it!
  16. Ever seen those shows? When human beings lift like 450 kilos, do 300 kilos in benchpress et cetera. How do you think he would do in the octagon for instance?
  17. This is for grappling without Gi. When I'm practicing my grappling, me and my partner start out on our knees. The only thing I can think of being a smart start-move is to get him into a guilotine-choke. Except, this does not work versus a big opponent (at least not for me). So in short, when I'm grappling (starting on the knees) versus a bigger opponent, and he is stronger than me (and obviously bigger), what should I go for first? Hope you understood all this, I'm a bit tired now.
  18. Strayder, it is not the MMA-promoters that say most streetfights end up on the ground. Besides, if you're in a fight with one other man, and you're sure he won't get help for the first few minutes, there is not very hard to take him down. Besides, you talk like Shootfighting is grappling only. It's also a mix of Muay Thai and Boxing.
  19. I happen to like Shootfighting alot Not only is it fun to watch (IMO), it's also effective on the street for what I know. Maybe someone would prefer muay thai/bjj instead though. Although we don't have any bjj's in my place(Oslo, capital of Norway, Northern Europe), which sucks actually.
  20. I would say grappling is actually very lethal if you amply an armbar, break the arm, let the opponent lie on the ground in pain, then do his other arm. He is now paralyzed. How about break every finger? Then both legs. Then the wrists! Cool, the victim has now suffered something about 26 fractures. Now do a rear naked choke for a minute or two. (Or just do it for a minute in order to have the opponent/victim/lifeless body to live in a hospital bed eating from a tube into his arm for the rest of his life) Of course, just my two cents
  21. I love the rear naked choke. It's just so damn effective if you get it right.
  22. Yeah, back to the subject. I mailed the teacher and he said it was for the ones who wanted to do shootfighting professionally. Whatever that might mean..?
  23. (Here I go again with yet another post ) Some people claim Shootfighting to be the "ultimate" art. What do you mean? What's its weakness/strength?
  24. Ah, Tekken, I'm a champ in Tekken 4 Jin owns Marduk though, he's just too big. He has some nice 20-metres-up-in-the-air throw with one hand though.
