  1. Speaking of which.... To you other girls practicing karate, how do you handle it when two or three of the instructors try to ask you out? Flattering, but I don't want to let it interfere with my training. Rachael
  2. Thanks Kickchick for the info. It's been about 6 weeks now, and I am pretty much only taping it for karate and sleeping. Still hurts, but I want to maintain as much mobility in that finger as possible. Wow, that is a LOT of instruments CheekyMusician. I put my practice with three finger chords to work playing the guitar. I really didn't like the idea of not playing for a long time so I improvised . Fortunately, playing is easier now, but my little finger lets me know if I overdo it. Rachael
  3. I have been learning how to joint lock a wrist from both a natural and unnatural grab. The first thing to do is to pin the attacking hand with your free hand. My thing is I need to build more strength in my palm to pin and keep that hand pinned. Any ideas? I have been looking for those destress balls....you know the ones that you squeeze to keep from hitting people . My instructor suggested using one to improve my grip. I haven't been able to find one lately in the stores. Rachael
  4. I broke the little finger of my left hand sparring about three weeks ago, but just went to the doctor last Thursday. He has referred me to an orthopedic which I see on Wednesday. Can anyone tell me what I should expect from the orthopedic? Has anyone else broke their finger and kept training? How long did it take you to realize that the finger was actually broken and not just jammed? I also play the guitar so this has affected two of my hobbies. Rachael
