  1. Thanks all :)

@Sensei8 - Tell me about it, I've had surgery on my left knee already. This injury isn't severe enough for a surgery so I'm just taking it easy.

Again thanks all for the great advice!

  2. Open competitions are fun. I judged/reffed the last one in the area. Was a blast. I will probably continue to do so and then compete when my knee is back to full strength.

  3. If any of you guys live near a Chinatown - see if you can find/or someone recommend an Herbalist - I had problems with my shoulder - Dit Da Jow helped with the pain - but the pain keep coming back - I found a Bone Setter who after 2 treatments got rid of the pain for good. These days I'm trying to learn as much about Healing oneself and others.

    Thanks!

Montréal has a nice sized China town and I'm actually heading down that way today. I'll see if I can find one.

I'm back to training now, but just 1/2 way. Not doing the full week. My knee is getting stronger every week so that good. Now I just need to address my other injuries :P

  4. The instructor would notice; he prefers that you don't "modify" your belt in any way. I'll wait for a size 2 on the promotion (hopefully)

I'm surprised he let you have a belt that long to be honest. Definitely tell him that 3 is too big and you'll need a 2, that way, he knows ahead of time.

  5. My master got me a 2" wide embroidered cotton belt. He said the Satin/Silk will keep getting undone and, honestly, the "frayed" look is only for that... looks.

So that's what I got. I have a silk belt as well that I use for "ceremonial" events (witnessing new black belts, judging tournements, etc...) but even then, I tend to just wear my cotton one.

  6. 3 months isn't a long time, plus you can still be there. Think of it this way, they will be fixed!

I'm currently avoiding the doctor's since I think I have a badly healed broken toe and now my knee on my same leg (which probably was caused by said toe.)

Chin up! You got this! Concentrate on healing and your club will be better for it :D

  7. My knees are always sore after class. I've never injured them, though. I feel for you, and hope you get back with it when all healed up.

Job and all that really slows things down, doesn't it?

I wish my job was just posting on this forum and talking about martial arts, but noooooo I have to be all sorts of responsible and take care of servers :P

Knee's feeling better. Still swollen. I'll be back in class next Monday.

  8. Well I buggered my knee once again. Old injuries always seem to come back, don't they? Anyway, I'm out of training for a month :(

I'm just keeping it relaxed and keeping a sleeve brace on it. Not much else I can do. Any of you guys have bum knees?

Also, sorry I haven't been around. Professional life has gotten the best of me. Stupid jobs and stupid bills :P

  9. I don't think that this is right. Decisions in the midst of a fight should be happen so fast that it borders on instinct, because it is instinct mostly. I don't think that a col would worry about which technique you used to defend yourself with.

I got this information from my father's cousin who is an Inspector with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, so I can assure you that this information is correct in Canada. Other countries, however, I have no idea.
