whats a kids black belt testing? i never understood that, what do you do when they are older,do they just keep the black belt, and go for 2 dan,3 dan e.t.c,or move to the same ranks of adults? i know this has nothing to do with the thread, but i never really understood that,it is pretty rare here to give 1dan to kids, and i am curious i think in my style, whe only get to break boards on the higher ranks, has a demostration thanks -
thats nice,i saw some old videos of mas oyama karate camp here it is i wish i knowed were part 1 is trough there are a lot of good videos in yotube of old kyokushin karatecas training, and showing clips from the old times, some of them are something else for shure enjoy man, cheers

when did i say that those tehcniques are useless or are junk?,and when did i also say that i knew more then my sensei? all i was asking was for some opinions,i never said they dont work,it just seems to me,that even too,you will obviously just do what you have practised in a real fight(like you said),head kicks, can put you in a bad situation if you dont do them right, and since there are saffer tehcniques out there,it just made me question and look for some views on its use thats why i am asking opinions,on its use in real scenarios, thats all
-
yeah i also think like that, head kicks dont seem to be very pratical in real scenarios, but would you use low kicks(low round kicks) to the tigh or the inside of the leg? side kick seems pretty decent,it could problably work well if it was used to the stomach area,or knees but yeah, that was what i was thinking, even too head kicks are comon in combat sports like mma,k1 and full contact karate tournaments, unless you are very skilled it wouldnt be a good option to throw one
-
i understand what you are saying i was tryng to say that if someone comes at you by complete suprise, you will problably wont use head kicks, know what i mean?its like if you are atacked by complete suprise, heads kicks would problably be something you wouldnt use, since you dont even have time to think it trough

in the principle you would have time to react and recognize the threath i ask this, because for the first time yesterday whe were practising head kicks(the name is Maswha geri,or something like that,i dont remenber 100%) and there was this green belt who i practised head kicks with, and when he kicked whe in the arm(just drills),it had a lot of power into it,if it had hit me in the head,it wouldnt have been very nice, and he is like 15 and has a very skinny built because it seems it would be hard to do a kick like this instictivly in a real situation, whe also practised a couple of back kicks, side kicks and such, and i was suprised about the power they have keep in mind,i am the last person that would be in a street fight, since its not my personality to instigate couple of questions for you guys, because i am curious to know -would you use a head kick in a real scenario?if so how would you do it,because they have a lot of power and i think they could be useful,it seems like a really good technique -what about those another "flashier" kicks, but at the same effective, like back and side kicks? -finally what about low kicks?my sensei taught me this kicks some time ago,but i had learned the technique when i practised muay thai for a short period of time, but yeah they seem effective, dont leave you that open, they seem all around a really good kick, both inside low kicks and low kicks to the tight,so yeah, what about that?would you use it? thanks,i really just want to get some opinions, since whe are going further in the study of the foot strikes,i am very curious one more time,i dont aprove street fights, but self defense is something i am interested about cheer!

i didnt know that, have you ever did this training personally? its something that i wasnt aware of,it seems kinda of "unique" since you wouldnt find such training in that many styles more one of the reasons kyokushin is so great It isn't unique to Kyokushin but many organizations conduct it. I have done it both as part of a group and individually. Individual kangeiko is a great test of spirit. Just use common sense - if it is blistering cold it is not a good idea. Even just training in a cold garage can be kangeiko. i didnt say it was unique to kyokushin,i was just saying that in the research that i did, kyokushin was the art were it seems that its mostly practised, but i am not shure its obviously that its still practised in other styles, its just training in the freezing cold or waterfalls seems to be something that is more practised by karatecas then people from another styles its just a very interesting ideia of training, thats all and i saw some clips of some karatecas training in waterfalls and in plain snow,it was very nice,i hope one day i might be able to practise it
-
thats some old school training right there,i saw a documentary on a karateca(he had practised karate for more then a decade),that started his day by running something like 5 miles around his neighbourhood oss
-
do more 9 extra minutes then that extra gainz everywere also it shure does seem that usually karatecas(mostly old school) have/had very unique training methodos, this being one of them

how often was this practise done? i studied a litle bit, about the story of karate(mostly kk,i have to admit) and it seems,in the old times(and i guess even now,but i guess not has frequent),people would just go out, only wearing a uniform or shirtless, and train in plain winter(like in the snow, when i guess it would be very cold) i saw some footage, images and videos of people doing this i guess it would be a training for the mind, for being focused on your training in such hard conditions would create mental toughness i would post a image,of mas oyama and some of his students, training in plain hard winter, but i dont want to get another post deleted, because of hotlinking but yeah, just search karate winter training in google, and you will find a lot of karatecas in the old times doing it so yeah, your taughts? and have you done it? i am just curious cheers
