TKD Sparring: When and How
Mayur replied to Maestro's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Sparring usually starts after the individual fully understands the rules and can throw basic kicks and punches compotently. The rules - Type 1 Kicks not allowed below belt except for sweeps Punches to the torso including back and sides but not to the face full contact ie full power Gloves not allowed Type 2 Same as type 1 except you have to wear gloves and punches to the face and backfists are allowed |Mayur| -

Katas are not necessarry, sparring is. You can do without katas but not without sparring, however they can be a useful in developing your overall abilities. |Mayur|

Hints , Tips, for perfecting the Perfect Side Kick
Mayur replied to Looneyas's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
concentrate on slow kicks and *hold* them at the end. Other than that, practice repeateadly until failure A small tip though, don't count your kicks but rather look at the clock |Mayur| -
In other words I believe what works for me will not work for everyone, depends mostly on the individual |Mayur|

For me it would be Thai Boxing, BJJ and some karate.....possibly kyokushin |Mayur|

Erm......may be wrong here but you get to choose the body type instead of choosing a martial art I mean that your body type changes once you get used to MA Seriousl choose a decent school with a good instructor and then start it to get used to it,. |Mayur|
