  1. 1. Almost anything from System of a Down... 2. Tomahawk/Mr Bungle 3. Almost anything from Cypress Hill....
  2. can't be that bad. well not for me anyway. i've been taking something called ECA Stack on and off for almost 12 months. it gives me a great energy boost and amazing stamina and going-power... from the top of my head, basically what's in it is: E - ephedrine - but a natural form C - caffeine A - aspirin - again a natural form from salicylic acid or some willow bark i think....

  4. oh! sparring is my favourite part of the class!
  5. i say common sense prevails. by all means go see a nutritionist or similar professional but use your own common sense to decided whether it is right for you or not. just by listening to your body, you will be able to better understand what it needs to become leaner and fitter. using this very principle, i have lost 30kg over the last 19 months
  6. compaq here but i prefer to custom build my own machines and do the same for friends and colleagues (for a fee )
  7. what our instructor makes us do when we're being slack with our elbows is make us hold some focus mitts on both sides, between our elbow and rib cage, therefore keeping your elbows tucked right. you drop the mitts - 20 push ups. either that, or our instructor will just punch us (lightly) in the ribs if we still haven't got it. you'll *learn* to keep your elbows close to your body.
  8. yeah, i'd suggest picking up a book or going to a website and learning about all the different routines you can do with weights as well as what weights to use for each one. i use a number of dumbell sets as well as different variations of the straight barbell - ie., ezy bar etc. also, pay special attention to the weight you are using. make sure you can do the correct number of reps and sets without injuring yourself! good luck
  9. use it to protect your cheek. don't worry, your chin will still be protected
  10. Great stuff - I'm joining this club I'm 25 and to answer your question SaiFightsMS, I feel very different to when I was a teenager. In my teen years, I never knew what sport was and never went to any Physical Education classes - I'd always tee up my music classes to coincide I'd also eat lots of fast food and other junk food. Whole packets of biscuits or blocks of chocolate were no problem with me... The difference now is fantastic. I'm over 30kg's lighter than I was 2 years ago and not only do I now train 5-6 days a week, I now eat to live instead of living to eat
  11. ...and not drinking too much water at once. just sip it and you won't get these stitches.
  12. thanks buddy and good luck with your new project too - let me know how you get along...
  13. Thanks for the heads up Jack...prior to Cell Tech, I've only ever taken normal creatine monohydrate. The person who recommended it to me competes in body building competitions and uses it himself. Anyway, I've been on Cell Tech for almost 2 months now, so with your advice, I'll keep an eye on the results....
  14. thanks for sharing that with us shotochem.... i've only just started MT training myself but am riddled with injuries right now too. suspected fracture on both toes, flat feet, plantar fascitis problems, chondromalatia patella, bruises, scratches, a weak and sore right wrist and aching shoulders. i'd love a break - i think it would do me good, but i feel as if i can't take one 'cos i've only just started! at this point, i only have 1 day in between MT classes and in between try to do light jogs, walking, weight training, yoga or aerobics.... but all this has made me realise the importance of recovery. getting early nights and reserving time on weekends (when i'm not training), just for *me*
  15. when i have my MT class on Saturday mornings, i won't eat breakfast, but 2 hours or so prior to my class, I have a protein shake. perhaps you can try this as it won't 'load' you down as much as a real breakfast and gives you all the right nutrients in your system to do a good workout. try to identify when it is that you start to develop that sick feeling, and stop when it happens. also, keep those fluids up - sip water regularly and make sure you are not over-heating where u are exercising...
  16. good luck with whatever you choose christine! i have also just started MT training about 6 weeks ago and now train 3x a week, for 1 1/2 - 2 hours each time in between classes i keep fit by doing lots of skipping, roadwork and weight training as well as yoga and aerobics anyway, you should check out a muay thai class if you get the chance. all the best!
  17. Hi Dablackbelt and welcome
  18. i've been using creatine for years and also been doing weight-training for years. my main use is to fuel muscles while i lose weight but is also used in a slightly different way to bulk up. the current one i use is what i would highly recommend. It's produced my Muscle-Tech and is called Cell-Tech. It is supposed to be 19 times better than Creatine alone. The results so far have been very good for both myself and my fiance who is bulking up: http://www.muscletech.com/PRODUCTS/CELL-Tech/CELL_Tech.shtml
  19. absolutely. it's not just how much you eat, but what you are eating. go to your nearest health food store and ask them to show you what they have for bulking up. my fiance who is trying to add mass as well, supplements a weight-training program (matrix) with a range of protein shakes and creatine drinks, daily. i'm going for the cut-down so i don't have as much protein and carbs as he does. good luck!
  20. congratulations boxer! i'm not sure what the yellow belt means as i've just started in MT...but we have singlets....green, white, yellow etc. etc... anyway....congratulations again and here's to you getting your blue belt!
  21. Hi KarateKa519 and \/\/elcome!
  22. Bear and Mikey are also like part of our family. My fiance and I don't have kids nor do we want them in any great hurry! So, Bear's my son and Mikey's *his* son! Needless to say when 'the boys' are being mischievous, it becomes a case of 'he's your son!'
  23. Hiya 554life and \/\/elcome to this great place. Lots of very helpful and knowledgeable peepz here I've only just started MT about 1-2 months ago so I'll leave your questions for someone who can answer it!
  24. lmao....i'm not a cat person myself....but having said that, i've never had one either. the little one especially 'Bear', being a cattle dog and a good jumper, loves chasing things and has even chased the neighbours cat all the way up trees. i've got no idea how, but i suppose that's the thrill of the chase for him. 'rooff!
  25. Yes, i guess i do but that's because i need them and don't (and can't) eat enough to be able to get all the nutrients from real food. Actually, that's only a portion of what i take - on a daily basis I also take chitosan, gingko biloboa, max energy, ECA stack (sometimes), C complex, iron, calcium, super lecithin, B6, brahmi and a variety of multi-vitamins...my fiance also takes some of these too so we buy in bulk from either an Australian vitamins store on the 'net, or our local health food store where we are members (and the manager is a competition body-builder)... All I can suggest YS, is that you give the Glucosamine a try. At a minimum, you need to take it regularly for 3-4 months before you will notice any results. I was told to start off taking it 3 times a day for the first month then, 2 times a day after that. (The bottle says to take 1 a day). The best type of Glucosamine for conditions like mine where it involves damaged or rough cartilage, is the Glucosamine Sulfate complexes.... Good luck, BB.
