Nights Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 I know well that squats/deadlifts/etc. are an effective way of training the legs, but I'm not in a position where I can train with weights at the moment. Currently I'm just doing a calisthenics routine consiting of mostly dips, push ups, chins/pullups, and various ab work. I can't think of an effective method of training my lower half, however. Some things come to mind such as one legged squats or even stances for an extended period? I'm not sure which would be most effective, though. Please help out with anythings that have worked for you.
Radok Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 One legged squats, hold sumo stance for as long as you can, go as far as you can into the splits position and hold yourself there without your hands, and practice your kicks as many times as you can with good form. If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point. Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.
