Bloodloss Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Heh me as I've said, I either listen to Enigma while meditating or I do it while sitting in my tree in the woods. Only in sadness can you find happiness. Only in death will you find life.

White Warlock Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Hehe. When i lived in Sacramento for a time, my roommate would put on Gregorian chants and i would just melt. I have no idea why it would do that to me, but... if i were to make a recommend, that would be it. daoshi Posted March 14, 2004 Posted March 14, 2004 Digital cable TV offers a Soundscapes channel that provides good meditation music. I've learned different forms of meditation over the years and find that a combination of self-hypnosis, Zen, and traditional Kuk Sool meditation offer great results.
SoulAssassin Posted August 14, 2004 Author Posted August 14, 2004 Thanks, everyone. To those who think meditating with music defeats the purpose, its true and not true. It helps stimulate the brain waves, as insense just helps give you a more relaxed feeling. Then again its like telling a newbie at meditating to clear there mind, when thats almost virtually impossible because when your tell someone to clear the mind and think of nothing, its hard for them to understand because they think about clearing their mind and usually get lost in the 'black hole' as i've heard before, haha. [edit] I do find that training in nature is best though, for me its perferred sitting or standing on a boulder (or dirt) next to a tree near a running stream. -SoulAssassin"I aint gonna eat, I aint gonna sleep, aint gonna breath till I see what I wanna see and what I wanna see is you goto asleep, in the dirt permanently"
solar_kid Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 You might also try hos.com. They have some programs in their archive that are probably suitable. ----Hmm. Hello. This is the floor. How did I get here?
Rotten Head Fok Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 From my studies and practice being in a quiet and thinking nothing is the goal, but this comes from people that believe in that method. I think that any attemp at different ways are good in the respect that it beats not doing anything at all. I have heard a few meditation CD's at local malls, but I've yet to purchase one. However I'm am interested in the results as every ma should keep an open mind to all that is. So anyone here with there experiences, please feel free to share with us. I have thought about just playing these sounds in my home for the calming effects. You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.

Sasori_Te Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 I have a question. You practice meditaion in order to reach a certain level of awareness. If you use music to accomplish this (conditional learning), would you be able to reap the rewards of meditation at another time without music? I'm thinking particularly of mushin (no mind) in a confrontation situation. A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.
solar_kid Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Sasori_Te: Yes, I think you can. I had this teacher in junior high (strangely enough) who taught us some meditative relaxation techniques. She used music, and so when I grew to like them, I started doing them myself. When I first did it at home, I tried to do it without music, but was not successful. Some months later, I was travelling, and didn't have any way to play music, so I tried doing it without the music and found that I could. I still occasionally use music, particularly when I try to meditate without the music and have trouble keeping my mind from darting every which way. ----Hmm. Hello. This is the floor.
