Kamidake Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 Johnny Cash died. He was a great American talent, appreciated even by those, such as myself, who don't usually care for country music. He will be greatly missed.
wrestlingkaratechamp Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 Yeah he was an American Icon
monkeygirl Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 John Ritter died on the same day. Not a good day to be named John. They were both very talented men and will be greatly missed. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
Wado Guy Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Nashville, as well as the rest of the world, has lost one of it's great treasures. One of my few memories of my grandfather was when we would sit in his workshop while he fixed old radios....and there was ALWAYS a Johnny Cash record playing. :) Cash's music is timeless. I'm going to miss him.
kchenault Posted September 17, 2003 Posted September 17, 2003 He should have won a video award this year. He was one of the best. Rest in Peace Johnny. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
Wado Guy Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 The video of Cash's rendition of "Hurt" kind of disturbes me. I'm not really sure what Johnny was trying to get at, but I respect him for doing it. Maybe I need to watch it a few more times.
Wado Guy Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 Ironically, I forgot to mention, Cash recorded somewhere around 30 more songs since June's passing. It won't be long until that album is released. It should be an interesting album.
G95champ Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003 welcome (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."

Johnny Cash was also a Diabetic and IMO this song was a personification of his struggles. "The needle tears a hole ".......ect. as well as the passing of his wife and also his good friend Waylon Jenning also from Diabetes. Quite different from Trent Resner who was refering to drugs and addiction. Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.
King of Fighters Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003 Just wondering, why does G95champ say welcome for no reason in every forum now?
