Eat smart, your body knows whats good and what isn't. Bodies are different down to the very way they metabolize foods. For me, I like to eat high carb the early part of the day with protein to hold me over between meals and then eat high protein with very little carb near the end of the day after I've burned the carbs off in my workouts

Everyones body is different, but I try to eat 6 small meals a day. Higher protein, lower carbs. Try to do cardio work 3 times per week, and lift weights on alternate days. You don't have to go in the gym for hours either.

Good Luck with your training.

Diet is a very complex subject. Everyone is different. Are you wanting to lsoe weight or gain muscle?? Or just maintain what you have?

At the moment i am looking for a diet that will assist with me losing weight, because right now i'm planning to cut. i used to be fairly muscly, then i lost interest and it all went down hill - so i'm a bit podgy atm ;)

i'm just trying to cut safely and efficently, and then get back to the weight i am now.

just as some figures, i'm 165lbs now, and i want to get down to about 140lbs before i start some weight training again. make myself nice and light and fit, then keep with the stretching etc, and slowly build up some muscle from there to get back to my weight or slightly above.

Any tips on getting down to that weight as far as dieting is concerned, and also for building muscle, would be great!

thanks :)

If you are wanting to cut, don't count on alot of muscle. Also, don't completely cut the weights out, Weightlifting doesn't have to add size, but will if that is how you train. Right now what you need to do is eat less calories than you burn. Simple fact right there. Nothing else will do it, as so many people think otherwise.

Balance your diet though, eat carbs, protein and healthy fats. Especially eat your carbs if you are fairly active. While cutting, you will want to watch the carbs, but do not eliminate them altogether. Also break your eating into 6 smaller meals rather than 3 large ones. It will help immensely as it ups the metabolic rate.

For weight training, lighten up the weight and go for higher reps (12-15ish). This will help build your muscles a bit, but will not add alot of bulk. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn.

In short, do your research. Read up on proper dieting and exercising. These forums are great, but go out and search for the answers.
