-kunoichi Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 ok, naturally fresh fruit would be the prefered choice in a normal situation but my situation is that i'll be going to college for my first year this year and i cant easily get to the store without a car... and i know my mom would send me canned fruit in bulk to help me with my diet as opposed to fresh fruit that will rot quicker... so... find someone with a car and buy fresh fruit with money i'd hafta scramble to get, or have momma send me canned fruit? i'm a girl.
battousai16 Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 i really don't think the difference is large enough to warrant that big a hassle "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
-kunoichi Posted July 30, 2003 Author Posted July 30, 2003 ^^ someone once told me that canned fruit contained excess sugars and stuff in the juice its in... so i dunno... i'm a girl.
battousai16 Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 well, i know that in cross country there's a bit of a concern with that in things like fruit juice, but there are kinds of fruit juice that don't have excess sugars and such in it. hang on, lemme check for a brand name ... dole and shurfine. as far as actual fruits go,i have the advantage of living 3 blocks away from a grocery store, so i've never had the problem. but i've never heard of anyone ever ruining their diet from eating from a jar of canned peaches. Squawman Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 I have read that canned fruit is as good as fresh because when it is processed it spends very little time from when it is cut up to when it is canned so it doesn't lose very many nutrients. The biggest thing to watch out for is fruit packed in heavy syrup. Get fruit that is pack in its own juice.
