focus102
Hi all, Maybe someone can help me. For the past couple of weeks I've been experiencing chest pains when I breath. These only occur after an MA class and last for a couple of hours and then I am fine. The pain increases the deeper I breath. I can't figure out what it is that is triggering this besides for the workout. We do breathing exercises towards the end of the class and these also cause pain if I breath too deeply. What could this be? "Nothing is impossible to the willing mind."
SaiFightsMS
Sounds like you need to see the doctor.
Shorin Ryuu
You might want to check your lungs and see if they aren't punctured or otherwise leaking. I had a good friend who had those symptoms after we would have cross country practice back in high school. One day, he had a lung collapse and had to be rushed to the emergency room... shotochem
See a doctor ASAP!!!!! This could be somthing serious. Do not take chances. I would not train until after consulting a doctor. This pain is not normal and to have it for 2 weeks is a bad thing. Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.
ZR440
Hopefully just a bruised rib. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.

focus102
Omigod! I didn't think it could be so serious. Thought it was just a muscle or something like that. I will see a doctor right away. Thanks guys. "Nothing is impossible to the willing mind."
Guest
I know you can tell if you hurt a rib by raising your hands above your head and breathe. I think if it was hurt ribs, it would hurt more than just after class. Something is happening from result of exercise, so it's probably something w/ the heart or lungs. Sibylla
Could be a muscle problem in your back, one time after class I couldn't take deep breaths at all...it was no pain, I just couldn't do it, I had to get massage etc for it to go away. Heart problems usually cause pain when you use your body, not when your doing breathing exercises etc. But you should see the doctor anyway, just to be sure. Az-Kicker
I sometimes bet the same pain, I saw a doctor, and he said that it was an "inner chest wall muscle cramp" and it was nothing to worry about. It was very sharp, and the deeper I breathed the sharper the pain. Now, I'm not saying don't see a doctor, because you should, but that may be what it is. Misfortune comes out of laziness.
