some do, judo does because you do full out force standing up or on the ground. I think judo gives you the best workout because you do alot of grappling, hard work. I like going against new guys or unconditioned ones to just tire them out.

The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain.

It depends on your style, your sensei, and how often you do things. Mine is a hard workout, but because of time constraints with my sensei he only holds class once a week. If I had three times a week I'd be in amazing shape, as it is I'm still doing pretty well for myself.

I love hard workouts...and some are harder than others. My favorite is when we grapple because it is intense. I also run 3 or 4 times a week (3-5 milers) to keep the cardio strong.

I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.

martial arts are supposed to keep you healthy and fit.

if you don't feel like you are getting either i think you should take a look at your training.

post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are.

I always get the ultimate workout in Kyokushinkai. I like the "athletic" way of training a martial art, I want to sweat a lot.

As well as mine. I remember all too well the black belt training classes we have every once in a while. If you're not in decent shape, you'll be sore for a week! lol
