:karate: in aikido do you learn how to offend your self as well as defend your self ? Because i see it as a bunch of blocks.

Offend yourself...? :)

Aikido works from block to counter as far as I know-someone who does it will be able to say more, try the aikido forum.

Aikido works best if you have someone running at you full tilt with there arms out in front. :D

Think of it like running into a treebranch or being close lined. Aikido people don't beat you up, you do it yourself.

Yes I can offend myself, thank you very much. All it takes is one look in the mirror!

Aikido doesn't teach attack tactics and that is a weakness. But if you learn how to lure the opponent into touching you... It's another story!

yeah but it is still very hard to fight an idiot who just throws punches if you are only doing aikido. thats why i startet wing chun a short time ago also :D

Be everything. Be nothing.

Aikido isn't an aggressive style of fighting. They don't want to hurt you, but they won't let you hurt them. It takes alot of practice and balls of steel. :)

Killer 13 why don't you go try Aikido then get back to us. I think you'll have a rude awakening.
