Aiki-Jutsu10. and believe it or not ITF Tae Kwon DoWhen it comes to the most effective. ALL of them. There ALL martial arts and everybody knows a Martial art is a martial art is a martial art, so ALL is effective From Krav Maga to TKD. "Who Dares, Wins"

mattyj Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 I dont think you can really make a definitive 'top 10' of most effective because there is too much variance between instructors/method of training/individual student/application. Ones that i have seen work or seen that they would work (by sparring against/training with/watching a practitioner) ive listed...no particular order...1. Muay Thai2. BJJ3. Kyokyoshin Karate4. Seido Karate5. Hapkido/Daito Ryu Aiki Jutsu6. Boxing7. Kickboxing8. Judo9. Kempo10. TRADITIONAL korean kwan arts, TRADITIONAL taekwondo. (emphasis on traditional - this depends on instructor/student, i have no faith in any kind of high/flying kicks in street application)

Judo9. Silat10. Kenpo(Thats just really random, any MA can be good, just depends on training methods, and amount of training put in) ~ You first mistake is to underestimate ~

Here goes my list :1-kyokushin karate2-Aikido3-Judo4-Muay tai 5-Ju jitsu ( And BJJ )6-Kung fu san soo - sometimes it seems to be brutal - 7-Traditional TKD 8-Goju ryu karate 9-Any other HARD style that works 10-Tai Chi Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
