Its Summer Im Burned Out....

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Its been pretty hot around here lately after weeks of heavy rain we are roasting in NY. With the hot weather there are so mant things that have to be done. More hours at work, the lawn needs mowing, the fence needs painting ect... When you get out of work then go to train for 1 1/2 -2 hrs

it really saps you out this time of year. Ive decided to cut my traing from 4 days a week down to 3. I have added pool kata and swimming pool training to make up for it. :D (Boy, I wish I had this weather all year round)

Does anyone have any good pick me ups or ideas on how to keep their energy level up in hot weather? Any good water training excercises to

keep me going?

Maybe I should just make myself a frozen margarita every now and then

and take it easy for a few weeks.....

Nah!!! I just can't do it!!!! Its time to sweat... there's nothing like getting battered and bruised, jumping around in my fancy white pa jamas!!!!

Help..... my..mind........is....go....ing............................ :o :o.............................

Gone!!!!! :brow: :brow: :brow: :brow:

try mountain dew if you want energy.....but the sound of a nice margarita and a pool sure brings back nice memories,......hmmm a break would be nice for awhile, not from martial arts but from work......

That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger

Get plenty of sleep every night. I know it sounds simple, but it really is very important and makes a surprising difference. Try taking a "power nap" when you come home from work...just make sure you wake up! I've heard many good things about naps.

Also, your diet plays a big part in your energy levels. Besides having a well-balanced diet, some emphasis on proteins and carbs should help support your activity levels.

Most importantly: realize when enough is enough. During the summer months, it's all too easy to overload yourself with work, activities, chores, hanging out time, etc... Spread your activities out over the week or month, instead of having every day jam-packed. Use weekends to relax...your body and mind needs some recovery time, and weekends are the best time to do it. Also, decide on your priorities. If the lawn needs to be mowed, do you pay the neighborhood teenager to do it, or do the $10 really mean that much to you?

Easier said than done, especially when you have a house and kids.

If you can find anyone that will mow a lawn for $10, get their phone number for me.

It's happy hour somewhere in the world.

$40.00 a month, sign me up. I can sell my lawn equipment and be ahead for at least 2 years!

Seriously, try to stay out of the heat on those blistering days. It just sucks the energy out of you. You eventually get used to it. I know, I have lived in Florida all of my life. Thank goodness for A/C. I try to get my running in early morning or late afternoon. Of course, with my schedule I find myself doing things when I can. Many times it is in the heat and I just suck it up and get it done. It helps to get plenty of rest and to stay hydrated. I like your closing...it's time to sweat. We doing a lot of sweating down here! Good luck.

I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
