Treebranch Posted July 8, 2003 Author Posted July 8, 2003 Sorry I didn't mean to say Schizophrena could be helped with MA. Those people are sick and need medical attention and lots of therapy. It's when they go off their medication that they can't separate reality from their dellusions. There was no mention that he was a Martial Artist, just that he was a fan of Highlander. I know if I snapped knowing what I know, I would have killed more than 2 people. That is why with someone who is sane, MA's can be a way to curb those violent tendencies. A schizophrenic does not have the mental capacity to know what is real or a delusion. Medication is the only thing that keeps them functional. KaratekaAikidoist Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 Well, You'd think someone would try to get a weapon withing the store. Like a broom or something. If the guy didn't really know what he was doing, you could prolly stop him. *anybody want to start a nation with an army comprised of Martial Artists? Instead of guns, we have swords and such. I apologize if this breaks forums rules. I get to be president! lol
sano Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 you have my vote if you make me general of the army. falcon kick!!!
Treebranch Posted July 22, 2003 Author Posted July 22, 2003 They could have thrown cans of soup at his head, or bottle of beer. They could have got some shopping carts and rammed him with them. They just didn't know what to do. After seeing someone die you think they would have booked. I would have gone to the section with the kitchen knifes and I would have thrown them at him. I'm pretty good at throwing knife and stuff. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
GrrrArg Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 People with mental disorders such as that would not respond to pain in the same way as a *normal* person, retaliating in this case could have made the situation worse if the initial retaliation was not 100% successful.
