I don't really have the time to start doign heavy weight training at the moment. I plan on keep doing situps and working my abs. Also what are the benefits of press-ups, and on their own how much good will they do my upper body?

Hi grahamcoleman! ... I think we covered this topic pretty well in the "General Karate Forum" under the thread "Upper body strength"....check it out! I mention a bunch of push ups you can do besides the ones that Bon mentioned.

If you can't or don't wanna bench press then push ups will suffice! Good luck! Just remember to be consistent! Check back with us!

Press-ups are too hard :cry:

 

Sit-ups are cool, the burn is a nice kinda feeling like when you ride a bike uphill in the highest gear.

 

Press-ups just make me collapse. :cry:
