Has anyone ever bought a home exercise machine that actually worked?

I normally make fun of those commercials and infomercials but I want to make sure that I'm not missing out on anything :P

I'd expect the majority of them work just fine, if you actually use em. Most people I know who have bought into that sort of thing are still sitting on the couch watching informercials about exercise equipment, while whatever they bought gathers dust :P

However, my boyfriend did buy an As Seen On TV vegetable chopper and it was just junk, didn't work anything what they show on TV. So maybe I'm wrong.

Well we could also go into the magical steak knife that can chop down a tree but that would be off subject

I'm just curious if anyone has gotten good results from one. I'm not talking about the first six weeks either, someone thats out of shape can see results from just about any type of excercise. I'm more interested in finding out if someone has been using a specific machine for a few years and continue to progress.

I can say that I have gotten good use from my ab dolly. It really is good for core body work. And it provides a good variety in workout options.

I'm glad you mentioned the Total Gym because that's the main reason I posted. I just don't think Chuck Norris would lie to me

I'm tempted to get one but spending $1700 on a machine just to test it seems a bit risky. I'm just searching for something new and interesting to spice up my workout.

And whats an ab dolly?

It is a pair of padded dolleys. You can use one at a time for upper abs or lower abs. And do like a caterpillar move using both together. It is kind of fun and a nice alternative.
